I googled a simple midi ringtone followed a link to a suppposedly free download, No terms of service agreement, no charge note nothing. Instead of a ringtone i get a textmessage saying OK you get 120 fun text msgs, and chat for 9.99 a month!?!?! WTF NOT AUTHORIZED !!! This company is obviously shadey scammers. I thought I was signing up for “free” ringtones. As soon as the text message I received said that I would be billed $9.99 per month I cancelled. When my Alltel bill arrived I was surprised to see the $9.99 charge. I called Alltel and they sent an email to DADAMobile to cancel and request a refund. The Alltel rep also gave me this number to call DADAMobile to request a refund: 1-888-214-0381. When I called DADA and spoke with a representative, I was told that even though I cancelled immediately that every time the customer subscription is “successful” the account is charged $9.99. She told me that my Alltel bill could not be credited but took my address and told me that a refund check would be issued within 2 weeks. Bottom line – beware of anything that is “Free.”

I have been charged $9.99 since May 19,2007. My reference #12401 has this service cancelled, but it is still getting charged. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and followed up with AT&T.

DaDa and CSW have obviously figured out a way to slam us into being billed for their unauthorized “service”. And, as someone mentioned previously, the cell phone providers are co-conspirators. I attempted to get these charges reversed ($9.99 + $9.99) and failed with Verizon. There is something very wrong going on here, and I have just begun my research. I will be contacting any party who I think can help (e.g., FCC, FTC, local news). Good luck to all.

My 8 year old son recieved a prepaid virgin mobil for Christmas. 2 days after activation he bagan getting charges for this 63232 crap. I called virgin mobile and they removed text messaging off the plan assuring me that if they couldnt text him, he would not be charged, a few days later, the charges began again. We now have 6 charges from this dada.net that is completely unauthorized. We NEVER subscribed to this service nor recieved any goods from them. I know my son did not do this without my knowledge because the phone has been in my possession the entire time TURNED OFF!! When I called dada.net they were very rude and insited that we DID subscribe because the text message was viewed, ok, if you get a text message dont you normally open it to see what it is?? I opened it, saw that it was spam and deleted it. Somehow they took that as a registration. Under no circumstances whatsoever did I subscribe for this frdulent site. Something has to be done with these people. They are attacking millions of people or more and not issuing any refunds because they claim you signed up for it!!

I have sent “cancel” to 63232 code via my text message from my cell phone, but the charges still show up in my billing statement. I call my phone carrier, they gave me a numbe to call 1 888 214 0381. It’s seems always repeating “we’re processing your request” forever without finishing. I’ve called my phone carrier more than 6 times but no way it can be stopped to charge to my phone. We will have to come up with a class law suit to protect ourselves soon or late.

We also got billed 9.99 from Dada.net on our Alltel bill without subscribing to anything. Unfortunately my husband opened up the text (all 7 of them!) which apparently activated this “service” Not only do you have to pay the 9.99, but if you look closely at your bill, you may be charged for each incoming text. We were. Anyway I called dada.net and complained. They assured me that they would block our number so it will never be contacted again (by them) and that they would refund the 9.99. I guess we just eat the text msg charges…. I can’t believe there aren’t laws….

You are being conned. You are being billed whether you open or delete the messages. Alltel are billing you on behalf of Dada. All the mobile network operators have a billing/revenue share agreement with the service providers(Dada,M-qube,Mblox etc).
The same billing/revenue share scam is being operated in other countries.
The question you should all be asking is why your politicians and regulators are turning a blind eye to this billing scandal.

I told them my daughter was a minor, aged 12. “Eddie” was very polite and stated a check would be issued in two to three weeks. We’ll see now if that occurs. Thanks again.

I reviewed my bill and found these DADAMCONTENT for $9.99. Verizon refunded the money and explained how to get “unsubscribed” to this service (that we NEVER subscribed to in the first place).
This company should be sued and investigated by th FCC. They are clearly operating with fraudulent practices.

Like many, I thought that it was a free ring tone. Then chose not to subscribe when it the window appeared… now I’ve been charged $60+ on my mobile bill by Dada and Text and Win. Not impressed as all I’ve been doing is deleting their messages when I get them. BTW each message was $4.55 (Dada) and $2.27 (Text and Win) for each SMS that THEY sent to me. I have now asked them to stop. Let’s see if they truely do. Never again shall I enter my details into such “free” competitions.

I have three phones and my step-daughters phone who is in the USAF was charged $9.99 for a premium test service. Contacted Verizon and they told me that it was a third party company. I called DaDaMobile’s toll free number (888.214.0381) and asked what was downloaded. All they could tell me was a ringtone. I asked which one and they couldn’t tell me. This was one day after her phone was replaced because of damage. DaDaMobile is a sham company and needs to be shut down! I asked for my $9.99 back and they said they couldn’t because of the downloaded ringtone. I talked to my step-daughter and asked her if she dl’ed anything and she said NO.

My 13 year old daughter’s phone has been getting charged $9.99 per month for something she says she did not order nor does she even know what it is for. She is an honest kid and broke down in tears when I pressed her on this, she wishes she knew how she incurred these charges so it won’t happen again. My wireless provider was not overly helpful but I did eventually receive instructions on how to block premium texting. My opinion is that the people who operate these businesses are no better than the Nigerian scammers that operate over the internet…both are scum.

We have just discovered that our 10yr olds phone has been charged since 12/07 for 9.99 per month from this service. When we called them they deny having made the charges! Funny they’ve been credited with the funds each month. We’ll be looking for a small claims suit.

Just discovered this $9.99 charge from DADAmobile this month on my bill. Verizon told me how to unsubscibe and also how to block it from happening again. Goto My Verizon; My plan; Add/Remove…; select Block Premium Text SMS; Continue; Submit. We’ll see if this works. After reading some of these emails, I’m concerned I have an emerging battle on my hands!

got random text from this company about their ringtones on my prepay phone, next thing i know i get a call from my provider telling me my account had reached zero… called my provider and they told me the text had taken 10 dollars out of my account and i had to call this dada whatever… i called and they told me i had subscribed and that was the cost.. when i told them i never did this they were rude and said they couldnt reverse the charge

I did not sign up for anthing. Just got a charge on my bill. Then the next month anothor 2 charges. I went to alltel to see what t was they said they could not refud the charges and to talk to you people. The total amount is 29.98 I would like a refund of this and that you take me off your lst and i would like to know how this happend

I have 3 phones having charges on my phone from Dada. I did not request anything from your site on any of the phones. I even have the phones in my possession during school hours and the texts are showing from 2-230pm time frames when the phones are at home alone! I have complained to my carrier and they told me to call Dada. I just want my $400 refund which covers the previous 90 days.

My son’s phone and my best friends phones were both charged for 2 mos and 3 mos ($9.99/mo)from dada mobile. T-mobile graciously removed 2 of the 3 months of charges but I would like to know how they managed to get the services authorized with just text messages being sent to me. Like someone said earlier, just opening a text does not give them permission to open an account. When you open snail mail, it does not mean that you agree to sign up or pay for whatever is on the paper!! So what makes this any different?? Any why can’t any corporate decision makers or law makers see this?

Two charges for $9.99 each appeared in my October Cell phone bill for premium charges (63232, DADADA). I was not aware of subscribing to the service and never used it. I called and cancelled any furhter charges I hope. I would like not to pay the bill but don’t see away around it. This is sneaky, underhanded and there ought to be a law or class action suit to stop this. I use my cell phone for phone and limited texting.

I’ve been charged $9.99 on my Sprint bill for the last 5 months and Sprint was unable to tell me why or who was charging me. I finally tracked down this scam and texted STOP. We’ll see if it works. I’m furious!! After reading all the complaints I have doubts the problem is resolved.

My daughter was charged for this service even though she texted stop back to them. My phone company has also emailed them twice not to send texts. I finally got them to send a refund check but it will take 2 weeks to get. I also had them blacklist my daughters number. This is ridiculous it happened 2 months in a row!!! Someone needs to stop them from spamming using texts!!!!

I am very upset to know there are companies out there that scam people through children. My 15 year old daughters phone has been charged for months this 9.99 fee for nothing and without her approval, not to mention that she is a child. Never subscribed and never downloaded music from any site. They have charged me for three months. I called the Verizon and was told what to do and still it did not stop. Just got another message, less than an hour ago, called Verizon, this time I have a block for premium text messaging, also got the charge reversed, replied to 63232 and received a response. Change my preferences with the V to block all web messages, but those preferences don’t work.

To all Mom, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncle’s, foster parents. These children did not put this on their phone. These text messages come in like telemarketer calls come in. Yes and then your charged. How do we stop it. This is merely a scam. So many young ones are being accused for doing this on the phone. I have an extra phone no one uses. We don’t even charge up. It was billed recently for this. So please spread the word so children are not scolded for something they did not do.

I went through AOL Music to get a free ringtone and in the process it asked me for a subscription which i said no thanks to. Since then I have been charged 9.99 a month on my Verizon bill AND have been receiving a txt message once a month from 63232 without being solicited. I want my 9.99 refund back immediately.

Billed 9.99 a month from Sept. 08 to present bill Feb. 09 –have complained to Verizon but they say they can not do anything –says subscription but we did not sign up or authorize this. Verizon said would put block on our numbers but that we had to text 63232 and tell them to cease and give credit but since block on we can’t send text message to them to get this off bill and to get credit for all the months billed without authorization.

I have a mobile internet service with TMN Portugal, but for various reasons have never been able to activate the service. EVEN SO, DADAmobile have somehow managed to access my number and begin charging €4 a week for services I never requested, never received, and never even new existed up to now. Mobile phone companies should be more proactive and take more responsibility to protect consumers from these rogue companies.

This will be the third time I have asked the company to get these charges off. My 13yr old got a text she did not even reply to..the company informed me she went to their website and clicked yes, the problem is her old phone can’t even play games, and we looked at the website together she had never seen it!!..So how is it a 13yr old is allowed to do this? They have been charging for 7 months unauthorized..I just again spoke with customer service, they say they shut it off and blocked the number, we will see on the next bill!

Recently started receiving these premium texts out of nowhere and without authorization for 9.99 a month so far. I have replied STOP to the first message I received and since then haven’t received another message. I have NEVER authorized this charge to be put on my account and have never given my phone number to dada.net. I will be calling Dada.net tomorrow for refunding on the charges they placed on my bill and verizon to have whatever blocks necessary put on my account to stop premium messages as well. High recommend all Verizon Wireless users do the same.
