Smsgameon.com enticed my child to text to 77877 and I’ve been billed $0.99
every day for the last three months until I figured out how to stop it.
It was a one time text and she never used the service. I asked for
a refund but they refused and they refuse to provide me with a US Mail
address so I can forward a small claims court subpoena.

  5. L. Shoemaker says:

I have 3 cell phones on my account. I am receiving texts messages from 44344 on two on the phones. They both started on Nov 30th 2007. We sent messages to STOP/CANCEL several times. We always received the reply that we were not currently subscribed to the service. When I received by bill in December I called the customer service number listed on Verizon bill (1-888-353-2801). I was told that the computers were down and the services could not be cancelled at that time. When I asked when the computers would be back up they didn’t know. I was told they had been down for over a week. When I asked for a supervisor I was told I was speaking to the supervisor. Today I called back and the computers were finally back up and the services were cancelled. I was told that the services were sunscribed to in September 2006! I was told by the “cutomer service” rep that he could not issue a credit and he suggested I call Verizon since I was being billed by them. Of course I had already tried that route and was told they could not issue any credits. I was also told by this customer service rep that their billing department does not issue refunds or credits and they do not take any phone calls. As of January 5th the total amount is at $193.91!! Has anyone had any success in getting a refund or a credit with these people??

  6. L. Shoemaker says:

  11. Jason says:

Emexus has charged me over $120 in all. For what? Who are they? The charges are on my Verizon bill. They are charged as Premium Txt messages. The funny thing is that, the number being charged is NOT a phone. It is the number assigned to my broadband internet access stick/card. I read to text STOP to the 5-digit number. My broadband card can’t text. I tried calling the number Verizon gave. Can’t reach anyone. Fraud! Scam! Help! Still being charged monthly. Can’t get it stopped.

  12. Lucie says:

Emexus sent me a premium message, a game, I did not subscribed to. It came from number 85115 and I have been charged ?5.00. I did not know what it is in the first place but immediatelly found on the internet how to stop it. Since then I have been every day in email contact with them and they keep refusing any refund. I did not subscribe to any of their bloody game! I reported them to Internet Crime Complaint centre, Consumer Direct and PhonePayPlus but I am not sure if it helps. Has anyone been refunded? Any suggestions?
    Thanks, L.

  17. James Cronin says:

I work in IT and often shop on-line for products. Some phone SMS service has aquired my details and began sending SMS text quiz questions to me over the period of a month. I ignored all messages and did not respond to any. However, my bill has arrived with £35 worth of charges from numbers such as 81121 – Premium messaging service received, 83500 – Charge from external company, 85015 – Charge from external company.
I rang my 3 mobile service provider to complain but they told my to contact these companies. I was given numbers that did not work. The Companies were called EMEXUS, VICTORY and VARIOUS. These companies are almost impossible to contact. Their customer service line does not work but they are obviously still trading.
How can this be legal? Who can stop this? The phone companies do not care.

  18. James Cronin says:

Text ‘STOP’ to the number to cancel the service. Good luck with claiming money back – I have had no luck.

  19. J.Lambert says:

  27. Sally says:

I have a pay as you go phone and barely use it so put around £10 on every two months. I put £10 on only to find I had no credit left shortly after because of texts from 85015! I have never subscribed so this is theft surely?! At the moment I dont have enough credit on my phone so I cant receive the damn things but I have been told I need to send stop back to them but that means I will have to pay to receive it in the first place.

    How can this be legal?

  28. Seung says:

They chage me $122 for the unscribed spam mail. They reject to refund this horrible spam!
How can I sue this hell company.

  29. PhilD says:

  30. Bal says:

received text from 85115 and 86000. I have no interest in downloading music or ringtones or infact games. In my wisdom, I had no idea what to do and thought I was doing the right thing by deleting the messages. It was only when my husband checked my bill that I became aware that I had been charged around £4.25 per text TOTALLING £25.61. UPSET – ofcourse, because I have not used the service, DID NOT DOWNLOAD anything or have any interest but have paid towards it.
In view of this, I would expect re-imbursement of the this cost.

  38. Hmmmm says:

You can request the 2waytraffic number from your provider. If you are in the USA you can’t get a refund. If ou are in the UK You can get one through there fincial department. Just keep asking in they will give it. Be nice though the people answering the phones don’t actually work for 2waytraffic, just a 3rd party call center. The service is now availablein Canada in the Netherlands. Make sure to state that you never signed up online or agreed to the service. Good luck.

  39. Annonymous says:

Emexus a.k.a 2waytraffic is a scam. Enjoy trying to get a refund. www 2waytraffic com

  40. Roger Herrington says:

I began receiving unwanted and unsolicited text messages from 77877 last week after I finished an online survey from a friend on Facebook and they charged my calling plan 99 cents. The instruction to unsubscribe do not cover the category that I have been receiving. I have been receiving ‘Game’. Would a simply ‘Unsubscribe’ request to info@smsfu4all.com be enough?

  41. Rhonda Hampton says:

i have no idea how i got on the 77877 list but i’ve went to their website TWICE now and filled out the form to unsubscribe AND texted STOP to the number as requested and neither did any good. I’ve had to turn texting completely off on my phone and let the balance go to zero to not get charged! I’ve called the numbers and never could get a person. This HAS to be illegal.

  42. Roger Herrington says:

Update to my January 29th complaint: I followed the ‘unsubscribe’ instructions on the smsgameon.com web site. Instead of replying to a smsgameon.com text message with a reply to unsubscribe, I initiated a text message to them myself with the unsubscribe message and they sent back an acknowledgement that I was unsubscribed. That was six days ago and so far, I have not received any more messages from them (the previous messages were two per day).

  43. George N says:

2WayTraffic is a scam! I’ve been getting charged GBP 5 (about $7.50) for each freakin’ text message they send me weekly. I didn’t even sign up for the service. I can’t believe O2 lets this happen through their service. This firm is now owned by Sony??? Why isn’t Sony doing something about this! Total scam. Who in their sane mind would pay $7.50 a week for a frickin’ trivia question?? Not me.

  44. Sophie E says:

Just totally horrified to find out Iv been charged about £80 over the last month for stupid ringtone messages that i never asked for and hadnt got a clue what they were when they arrived, so stupidly just deleted them! cant believe it. thank god i finally realised. 3 mobile said they cant do anything but each one costs £5!!!
    such a scam

  45. Hunter says:

I was charged $9.99 on my phone bill for something I didn’t sign up for nor use.

  46. Nigel D says:

I have been charged £70. T Mobile says it Exemsus, who say it is Mblox. So far O2 have been most helpful saying that it is 2waytraffic. Has anyone had any luck getting there money back.

  47. Nigel D says:

85115 is the number T Mobile gave me

  48. Susan Sutton says:

I have received 2 charges on my last mobile bill for inter-media msgs from EMEXUS – I have received nothing from them and subscribed to nothing as well. What am I paying for? How do I get a refund when the tel no given to me by O2 only has a recorded message!

  49. Nigel D says:

Try this number for 2waytraffic (same company) 0203 393 8495 – http://www.2waytraffic.com. They will be able to tell you the day and time that you were meant to subscribe. T Mobile gave me £50 after a lot of complaints from me, maybe 02 might do the same, mention watch dog, and the fact they know about it as I told them, even mention my name if you like – Good luck

  50. Dan says:

$1.24 a day for whatever it is they provide. I stopped service today. Hardly ever use my cell unless going on a trip. Curious to see if it comes off as quick as it started charging me.

  51. Robert M says:

I got ripped of by 2waytraffic to the tune of £80 for ringtones sent directly to my service messenger. As there wasn’t a phone number included I thought they were from T-mobile. After a lot of searching I found this email address Wim.Claassen@2waytraffic.com and managed to get them to agree to pay me £40 back

  52. Nigel Dawes says:

Wim was the person I spoke to aswell, but he refused to pay me anything, still T Mobile have me 50 back out of the 70

  53. Sandra Harrisingh says:

I too have been a victim of this out and out blatant crime.
I have complained to T. Mobile regarding this matter and all they can do is bar the number which was 85015 and give you a number: 02030262817 for you to contact and unsubscribe. The person i spoke to was based in Canada. He then assured me that i am now unsubscribed. He also gave me an address which is: 2WayTraffic International
    64 New Cavendish Street.
    London
    W1G 8TB.
I have informed T.Mobile that surely their have a duty to contact their customer’s regarding these types of extortionate texts. I am therefore refusing to pay the £28 which is part of the billed issued by EMEXUS. Furthermore these companies are advertising and marketing under false pretenses there is nothing stating the cost of receiving a text for a fee of £5.00. if that were the case i’m sure that we would’nt be getting duped as we are as consumers on this World Wide Web. Company’s that are scamming the general populous should be named and shamed.

  54. Nigel D says:

Best thing to do is really really get angry with T Mobile, I got £50 back from them, and that 0203 number is netherlands. If you go on to there website which is part of Sony, there is a PR Rep in the UK with a Mobile Number for her. You could always say to T Mobile that you know for a fact that other customers have been refunded, they will even let you email this website link to them as well like I did, Good Luck

  55. Sandra Harrisingh says:

    Hi Nigel,
Thanks for your response. Believe me i do intend to complain more to t-mobile. I have not paid my bill yet, but i do intend to omit any charges EMEXUS have incurred on my bill on the grounds of unfair and exploitative charges. Evidently T-mobile are fully aware of what is happening and therefore should inform their customers. will keep you informed.

  56. Nigel Dawes says:

T Mobile have a facility to bar all these types of texts so why they dont do it automatically i dont kno, and yes they are very much aware

  57. Malotte says:

This company is now also active in Sweden.
My son, 13 years old, has been charged 15 SEK per sms without having
    subscribed to them.
He has tried replying with STOP to the number 72722 without succeeding.
Is there anyone who knows how to stop this?

  58. megan says:

i paid my phone bill yesterday and i had over $100 dollars due!
i got texts from various numbers that charged my $9.99 each ten times! i had to text these numbers to tell them to stop. but one of them used about 3 times was emexus and they won’t stop!

  59. Nigel D says:

read above comments, who is your network provider?

  60. Elizabeth B says:

I am having no luck unsubscribing…I have tried every number listed on this page. Most say they are no a valid shortcode (I live in the US), but any that I can get through to are telling me I am no longer subscribed. Problem is, they’re still billing me anyway!

  61. Nigel Dawes says:

If I was you I would change your number and if you can change network

  62. Uyi A. says:

Can you imagine these fools charged me £51 to my o2 bill for getting a text message that I never subsribed to? And the ass… of a customer service rep. tells me I should have read the terms and condition… Of what I never even saw. I was so shocked. I asked for a refund and this ASSHOLE( excuse my french ) hung up on me. How on earth do pay more for texmesages than your phone bill? This is the latest scam I have seen in a long time( I use to think scam was a Nigerian thing)..Im so freaking burnt

  63. Nigel Dawes says:

Have you read the previous posts, also contact trading standads and citizens advise, do not pay the bill. This is the first I have heard it on O2 its usually T Mobile

  64. ray currie says:

I seem to have had the same problem as all you folks i started to recieve these un wanted texts in march 2009 i did not know where they came from or how to stop them it seemed to be some quiez game so i just ignored them in september i phoned up my service provider and asked why my bills where so high tye told me that twowaytraffic emexus had being billing me five pounds a text for the last six monthes an average of twentysix pounds a month how can i get my money back from these SCUMBAGS I WANT JUSTICE THANKS RAY CURRIE

  65. Nigel Dawes says:

Demand it back from the network provider as they should be fully aware of this scam as its not the first time, give them webpage address and the numbers I have posted on previos replies

  66. ray currie says:

Thanks for your help folks i am now dealing with trading standards and hopefully will get a refund the more of you that report these scams to trading standards the better lets trie bring these PARASITES down

  67. Ania says:

Two way traffic charged my sim card £60 all together even thou this card was in a drawer and i didnt use it for over 3 months!

  68. Brian Dennis says:

Unbeknownst to me, Emexus was sending me something on my Virgin Mobile cell phone every day at a cost of $0.99 with a $9.99 charge every month. Since I only use my phone for emergencies, I didn’t notice this for several months. The Virgin web site just indicates the charges for “XTRAS” with no indication of where it is from or what it is for. I complained to Virgin and after initially saying they were not responsible, they told me it was Emexus sending me these XTRAS, whatever they were, and agreed to refund all charges going back three months for a total of over $50. I had to stay on the phone with the Virgin representative for over an hour while she refunded each charge individually and my cell phone battery ran out before she finished. I still haven’t got confirmation that the charges have been refunded. What a crazy system but at least Virgin Mobile did eventually acknowledge their responsibility and refund the charges.

  69. Joshua H says:

These assholes at 78777 keep texting me and costing a fortune. I called my service provider (Virgin Mobile)twice, and they credited me my minutes back. I finally got a real person on the phone at Emexus and he verified that I had canceled the service that I hadn’t signed up for in the first place. However, the Emexus rep said that since I canceled their service today I may receive up to TWO more of these texts!

  70. Jenica Cho says:

77877 charged me $9.99 for unauthorize text messages

  71. GDK says:

Caught the 778-77 premium text messaging charge on my cell phone. Sent them a stop text message. Verizon reversed charges. Contact State Attorney’s office in your state.

  72. Geirge Ashby says:

@ months agao i found alot of charges on my phone from this company, After contacting them i reauested for them to remberse my account. They were much abliged. Needless to say the $10.00 never made it to my account. Here it is Feb and after reviewing my account againg i see that they have been chargeing me again. Not one time have i ever granted them the permision to deteuct any of these charges to my account. Unbelieveable, somebody respond by telling me what it is that i can do about this. I can’t afford to have anybody just taking money away from me. Thank you George

  73. Chance Pluck says:

i recieved a charge of $9.99 on my verizon wireless phone bill and was not aware of any subscriptions or premium texting and did not authorize it and was wondering if you could send me a refund of my $9.99 directly to me.

  74. laurie says:

How do these people get away with this? My code was 77877 and they claim that I signed up for it and confirmed by returning a text with a pin. Verizon Wireless claims 2 way traffic alerts is a legit service and not games…but the site if “Game On”. I believe someone entered my # and a friends online, we both have these charges and neither of us confirmed any such service. Furthermore, there is no record in my history of a text being sent from my phone to confirm…Scam…Fraud…

  75. John says:

WTF!! This is BS! so, if you don’t text back the word “stop” they assume you want their sh#t! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! Unbelievable…

  76. Ken Hall says:

‘Just found charges on my AT&T cell phone today, by 2waytraffic/Emexus. What does it take to put these people out of business? AT&T gladly refunded one month’s charge, and assisted with getting me unsubscribed, but that tells me AT&T knows what is going on. Why can’t they just reject the charges?

  77. John says:

The company says i subscribed to their service, which i did not, charged me $33.75 and 8,75$ on my cell phone bill, have been getting text messages from them for the last few months, did not know who they were so i deleted the messages, as soon as i got my phone bill and seen the charges i phoned the company and unsubscribed, they insist that i subscribed to their service which i did not. Can you imagine how many people don’t complain and how much they are making with all of us.

  78. bob says:

Rogers canada let them charge me $15 they are thieves!!!

  79. Kathy Hamilton says:

Rogers Canada issues cheques to Two-Way Traffic on a regular basis; this of course, is according to the two-way traffic crooks. Third party billing is not part of my contract with Rogers and I refuse to pay for the original charges, any new charges, and any interest charges on my Rogers account. My contract with them ends in a few months and since they will not own up for this old and recurring problem. Rogers should have been aware of this scam since it has been a problem since 2007. Both two-way traffic and Rogers said that they want the unauthorized money from me because I ignored the text message to me. This current unopened and unread text is still waiting to be opened by me, and this is both parties reasoning as to why I am being charged. I am not obligated by anyone to open unsolicited text. If Rogers wants to cancel my cell phone over the unpaid $15 plus 12% HST and future interest charges, they can. As far as I am concerned they have broken my contract with them. No 3rd party billings should be entitled to bill my cell phone account. This account is not a credit card account.

  80. Cheryl Gazo says:

We are with Rogers Wireless and have discovered we have gotten caught up in this scam also. They said we typed in our cell number on a internet popup which we do not get popups and I would NEVER give my number or any info to any website or popup. They then sent a text message which we don’t use or are supposed to have on our phone. I never opened them but seeing I had messages from 66366 that I didn’t know who it was, I just automatically deleted them. They said I put in a code they sent which signed me up for their service. Never happened, they all were automatically deleted without opening the message. Now we have had to pay an extra $30 a month for something we didn’t sign up for and didn’t want.

  81. George Woodings says:

Received 5 unauthorized text message2, at $5.00 per message, which I had never subscribed for. Called my service provider, he told me how to unsubscribe. i.e., text the word ‘Stop’ to the 2waytraffic text number 88788. I also called 2Waytraffic, and they have put in a request for a rebate of the $25.00. Now I will wait to see if this all works.
