  1. Michelle says:

Sprint charged me for Premium Services (non telecom) purchases of 9.99 through opera telcom binary, mobile messanger text alert and FYI Alerts mobile messanger text chat text codes of 33999 and 44674, these codes were provided by the Sprint customer rep when I called to complain about these UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON MY ACCOUNT. These phone numbers were provided by the Sprint Rep. 866-616-6076 opera telecom, 800-235-7105 and FYI 800-381-5213. I tried to call a representative for the Opera telecom and it was a static message, no customer service. I am very frustrated and have been charged for something I never ordered a total of $31. 96 on my Oct. and Sept bill.

  2. Angel says:

Centennial Wireless has had to charge me 9.99 per month for the last three or four months for these stupid ringtones that I never authorized on my son’s cell phone. It is Rintone Times 71769. The worst part is when I did notice it on my bill, I called the number (thanks to Centennial Wireless) and canceled the subscription right away, they sent me a text message confirming the cancellation and we are still being charged. LOOK AT YOUR BILL EVERY MONTH–there could be charges on yours too.

  3. Reuben Z says:

In an attempt to have reversed $33.95 in charges NEVER approved, asked for, acknowledged, or understood their origin from; I attempted to cont act this company [??] after my provider (alltel) as if I was an stranger after 15 years of consistent customer. For 10 consecutive days I called & emailed messages I attempted to contact these individuals, finally some idiot in AUSTRALIA told me that he could cancel the service toward the future???, that nothing could be done from the past, because I, I, I, had accepted the service (I, am a legal rep from a professional legal system, utilizing the cell phone ONLY for legal services, NEVER for stupid Csw Jokes/Horoscope [or whatsoever their excuse may be…

  4. Christine Meiner says:

Text messages from them that I don’t want, and I have to pay for them!

  5. Matt Miller says:

I am also getting SMS messages from them… of which I have to pay for each one!!!!!!!

  6. Matt Miller says:

    I called their support 1-877-225-1198….
on hold for ~2min… then disconnected (each time I try.) Nice.

  7. Matt Miller says:

Called back, this time I selected the options to “automatically unsubscribe my number”…. to which it replied “allow one business day”…. here’s hoping.

  8. Kent Kallmeyer says:

The charge for this was $19.99 on my November AT&T bill. The wife says she did not sign up for anything and I belive her – I have had this problem before with other similar irreputable companies. I called AT&T and they will dispute and issue a credit …in a month or two!!

  9. Bob says:

We had two of these suddenly appear at $9.99 each from dadamobile and csw. Even though my wife had responded “cancel” when they were soliciting her, you have to type “STOP” or it will self subscribe. What a rip-off! Verizon reversed the charges but I think a follow up call to the FCC is necessary. These spammers are ripping people off and the Phone services are allowing it and making money off it I’m sure. You should be able to opt out of all premium servicing as an option. Veriaon says you can’t. But since they don’t alert you to how it happens and how to stop it they’re complicit.

  10. Sarah says:

Can anyone give me a number to call to get rid of these CSW Jokes/Horoscopes? I can’t even find a website!

  11. Brian Williams says:

My Virgin Mobile phone was charged $9.99 from CSW and I did not order any service from them. I cancelled the subscription with the phone number that the Virgin Mobile rep gave me. 877-225-1198. How do these people even get your number?

  12. Glenn says:

I have been charged $39.96 for things I have no Idea how they got there. CSW if fraudulant and needs to have the Senate investagate for faud. This is extorsion plan and simple theft.

  13. Mitch says:

My cellphone got an unsolicited text from 71769. The msg was deleted. The next billing cycle from Verizon, the 9.99 charge shows up. I call Verizon and argue with them to remove it. I Google 71769 and find the following info. Read the fine print. The company couldn’t be contacted. Looks like a scam. If they can cheat enough people out of even one months service, they win. Plus it appears to be a UK company. Good luck suing them.

  14. Edward Gowen says:

My wife and I have recently started receiving spam from 71769. A quick call to Verizon resulted in the removal of the unexpected charges. Thus far I am pleased with Verizon’s service. Our ability to use the phone in our work areas is much better than it ever was with Cingular.

  15. Tammy says:

I am getting tne jokes from 69999 laughaholics.I did not subcribe to this at all and they will not stop comming up evryday on my phone.I’m getting sick of this I’m a single mom and can not afford this crap. What can i do about it. My phone is with MTS mobility. Tammy

  16. joseph gonzalez says:

DO NOT want to subscribe!! Please do not charge me.

  17. Joy says:

I too got a message that i subscribed when i didn’t I have sent 3 emails…No reply. I do not want this and have not subscribe to it.

  18. Suzanne Birk says:

I received the text message that I had subscribed, sent them a text immediately after to “unsubscribe” and was informed I didnt have a subscription. Today I received my sprint bill and there was the charge for $9.99! Called the number – no such luck – sent an email – no answer. Called sprint and the $9.99 is being removed. Praise God! Hopefully it wont show up again next month.

  19. Jeff says:

I got charged 19.99 on my AT&T bill. AT&T credited my account when I called them. m-Qube Inc. showed up on my bill as well (they are the one doing the billing) and they have a website to cancel the billing issue. hopefully it works.

  20. tyson schledewitz says:

i agreed to a “free” ringtone only to find out they didnt offer “free” ringtones to alltel. i canceled the “free” ringtone within a few minutes and was still charged 5.99. I then called in to get my money back and they wouldnt give it back, only to tell me that i paid 5.99 for no services even though it was sold to me as a “free” download.

  21. Rick H says:

I thought I “unsubscribed” to this “free” fraud basically. However, I got a text from 71769 that I was about to be billed for $9.99 for something I never subscribed for. I notified Sprint quickly, and explained about the unwarranted charge. The rep informed me that they get many calls about this on a daily basis. CSW, ringtones, or whatever fraudulent outfit it is, has been blocked from my account, and my next bill will be credited for the fraudulent charge.

  22. jake says:

I was charged with 45 dollar extra on my bill cause of this CSW thing. I never agreed to anything it just contacted me saying i was subscribed to it. i didnt know what it really meant so i blew it off and ended up having to pay almost fifty dollars extra for somthing i never once agreed to.

  23. Kevin says:

did not want it please help getting it off!

  24. ULA says:

don’t put your cell phone number or you ssn on any website, ever.

  25. trudy says:

i am sick and tired of calling and e-mailing no answer i’ve being paying 9.99 since last october and its not fair cuz i dont even have a ring tone on my phone so please removw this asap. Thank you

  26. John S. says:

I was surprised when the $9.99 charge showed up, so I called Verizon. Fortunately, their customer service reps reversed the charge and told us how to unsubscribe. A class action suit might help these scam artists shape up.

  27. Dale Smith says:

I have not subscribed to nor agreed to pay for htis charge. Take it off and unsubscribe!!

  28. Dale Smith says:

    Stop charging me!!!

  29. joann says:

stop charging me for thing I didn’t order

  30. joann says:

    Stop the charge now

  31. Denise G says:

I, too, was charged for 9.99 after I emailed and told them I accidentally signed up for something I did not want. The website is deceitful and tricky, not allowing you to even choose whether or not you want to subscribe.! This company should be banned!

  32. kelley says:

We were trying to download a free ringtone and most definitely did not check the box to indicate that we agreed to ‘terms and conditions.’ We never received a ringtone and were instead signed up for a $27/month bad joke program. I’ve called twice to unsubscribe and am still not sure whether that effort has been effective. Alltel has been rather unhelpful in the matter, claiming that they have no control over the situation and are unable to remove the charges from our bill.

  33. mindy says:

I was mis-imfomed when I was on a web-site, i thought i was getting info on a free ring-tone, which I NEVER received. I have need charged $5.99 for 3 months, i cancelled this thru a text (I THOUGHT) and i am still getting charged. PLEASE STOP. My phone number is on a corp. company (50 employees) and they are not real happy with this happening to their bill every month under my name.
    HELP HELP

  34. Marva B. Taylor says:

I was mis-informed on the site it said download free ringtones to you cell now I am being charged 9.99 monthly and cannot download no gprs whatever that is.

  35. Cicely says:

My husband signed up thinking this was a “free” service as advertised. As soon as he saw that we would be billed $9.99 each month he tried to cancel it as directed on their website. I just saw our bill for January and we were charged $9.99 anyway. I contacted Sprint and they gave us a credit for the charge, but they couldn’t do anything else to make sure we were charged again. They said they’ve had several calls from people complaining about this scam.

  36. Leigh Anne says:

I was charged $30 for 6 jokes/horoscopes to my father’s phone (on my plan). Alltel was WONDERFUL about removing the charges and company has been notified to cease and desist!

  37. Joanie Cheely says:

I was charged $22 for some jokes that I didn’t sign up for. PLease get this off my phone.

  38. John says:

I have been charged a total of $60 from this group and never ordered anything from them.

  39. Mark says:

I’m on Vigin Mobile wireless, am not employed. I did NOT sign up for this, and Virgin mobile wireless would not help me. I needed jokes (for $9.99) like I need a third nipple.

  40. Brian says:

I have been charged $19.99 for at least the past 2 months. I’m on AT&T and not authorized these charges. Now I need to waste time getting rid of these charges.

  41. Edgar says:

I just noticed that at least for the last two months I have been charge $19.99 from m-qube. I don’t know how that began but I will find out. I want my money back.

  42. Debby Nading says:

i am being charged for Cws jokes/horoscopes that i havent not ordered and would like it off my phone

  43. Judy says:

How do I get the CSW unwanted charge off my daughters cell phone?

  44. Geneva Crowell says:

I was charged by your company for ring tones we did not order. I want those charges taken off my bill.

  45. Marke says:

I noticed on my last billing cycle from Virgin Mobile, that I was being charged $9.99 for Jokes! I called “VM” and explained that I never signed for this service (I backed out when I realized what it was). “VM” said it was 3rd party, nothing they could do, and after multiple trys I finally received, an account canceled message. These carriers are making a profit, are they not culpable for these deceitful practices? I am unemployed with no income coming in, I need $9.99 worth of jokes a month like I need a 3rd nipple!

  46. Kerry says:

I noticed it on my bill, but it was my mother’s phone number. When I asked her she said she didn’t download anything. She remembered getting a text message and knew it was junk so she just deleted it. She didn’t answer back or anything. Apparently, they took that as an affirmative answer so they signed her up for the service and charged $19.99. By the time I had asked her about it and called, AT&T had already charged for a second month. Luckily, the guy I talked to was very helpful and not only cancelled the service, he also blocked it so that it couldn’t happen again (at least not with that service) and he refunded the amount we were charged for the two months. This is ridiculous that this M-Qube company can do something like that. It’s one thing if you actually send a text message requesting a service like that, but to dupe someone into getting the service or just starting the service for them without a request is absolutely absurd! They definitely need to be put out of business.

  47. mark says:

Looks like I’m one of the lucky ones. I caught this scam on my cellphone bill on the first month I was charged. I was bill $9.99 for services I never received and never asked for. Unknown how this company got my cellphone number. I placed a call to the 1-877-225-1198 and was unable to speak with someone and eventually the connection was just disconnected. I’m a costomer with US Cellular. In calling them I was first told by two US Cellular representatives that I most have authorized this charge and that there was nothing they could do about the $9.99 charge. I then found this website and called US Cellular again. After bringing this website to there attention i was then told I would receive a credit for this charge. So if you are someone out there with a similiar complaint please take the time and right a comment or complaint. This website helped me and perhaps it can continue to help otheres until the cellphone companys take the time to acknowledge there is a problem..

  48. Tiffany says:

    Exact Same as Marks situation!

  49. Debbie says:

    ARggghhhh – From their site.

For help send “HELP” to 71769. To stop, text “stop” to 71769 anytime

  50. Francesca says:

I filled out some forms just to progress to the website. It didn’t say anything about charging me until after I had put in all of my information. I tried to deactivate my service immediately because I didn’t want to sign up for it but I was still charged $9.99 and I can’t get through to anyone to get it taken off my sprint bill.

  51. JEFF WATZNAUER says:

I WAS CHARGED 9.99 FOR AT LEAST 2 MONTHS NOW AND NEVER EVER HEARD OF THIS COMPANY. I’M 46 YO, AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT RINGTONES!!!!!

  52. Randi says:

I made the mistake of clicking on a pop-up for a free ringtone and now have had 2 mos of $9.99 charged to my cellphone. I called Verizon today and they gave me a number at CSW Service (1-800-249-5104) to unsubscribe to the service. I pressed “one” and supposedly unsubscribed. I attempted to speak to a CSR to get a credit of the two months charged — no luck. These people are crooks and should be put out of business. I want my “Premium TXT Messaging” charges reversed and a credit returned to me for any of these illegal charges!

  53. Stacey says:

My Minor daughter was on the internet when we gave her her new phone and downloaded ringtones by 5 different companies. I have contacted 3 at this point and the one I have a problem with is the CSW 71779 Ringtone (on my bill) I called to let them know that this was not authorized by me to be added to my bill and that my daughter did this the CSR at CSW (Billy) asked me how I can proved my daughter is a minor. I was appalled and asked him to make sure this is unsubscribed and will not be on my bill he stated it was and I then hung up he kinda creeped me out with continually askign me to prove my daughter is a minor. I think these sites need to regulated and watched so we as partents don’t have to pay for our childrens mistakes.

  54. Landa Taylor says:

uummm I went to the sight however I didn’t down load anything because nothing I heard even sounded remotely close to the music I was looking for and further more how do they have the right to take my number which you have to impute before you can access the site and charge me 2times of $9.99 and every month, Damn every month! I am so livid. This makes me want to beat there *sses. Tak’in food from my family with bogus charges! Still in process of try’in to get these monkey’s off my back!

  55. Michael Dye says:

I was hooked into this from a link I received in a online newsletter from Dick Morris. I thought I was going to receive a “free ringtone” and instead I started receiving dumb jokes texted to my cell phone and then charges I never agreed to recieve. I believe a class action law suit is in order.

  56. M Garong says:

Never subscribe to this ringtone and yet have been charge of 9.99 for several months. Never realize until today. Good thing that TMobile can blocked this service.

Went to the website and it looks pretty easy for any one who knows any cell phone number to just register to their service. This is truly a rip off. This should be a criminal offense.

Read that one had tried to STOP the service by texting them and got a reply that he or she is not a subscriber, similar case happened to me. Definitely, this is a scam and all victims should sue these people. Need to have the Attorney General to look into this and make this a criminal offense.

  57. shadonya says:

this website took 9.99 from me and i need it back asap.

  58. elizabeth ridings says:

my phone was a xmas gift and after activating it i started to recieve text jokes and i did not who they were from, now i find i’m beening charged 9.99 a month for this…..so very not cool….i called the company and they were rude and refused to refund my money….

  59. Anna Andersen says:

Same story here. Didn’t subscribe and have two charges for $9.99 each on my bill. Can’t get anyone to listen to me.

  60. Amos says:

For the last several months I have had continually reocurring charges of 5.99 from 71769 CSW Jokes/Horoscope on my Alltel bill being charged to my fiance’s phone. I talked to her and she says she has never signed up for these (and the fact she barely knows how to check her voice mail) leads me to believe her. I have had text messaging and Axcess Apps turned off for over a year now so there is as far as know, no way to have signes up for them. Yet when I brought it up with Alltel the rep told me that they could not remove the charges and asked why I didn’t notice the text messages?!! Last month I went there again and they explained that the company appologized and I would get a “partial” refund of the charges from the company. Well surprise 6 weeks later and no check and charges are on my bill again. I think it’s time I went and had a VERY heart to heart chat with them.

  61. Amos says:

Sorry for another post forgot to add the charges average an extra $24-$30 a month totaling almost $200 now.

  62. Pete says:

This is some scam, I’ll tell ya. When you try to cancel by going to “My Profile” on their website, it comes up with a server error. They set it up so you can’t cancel!! UNREAL!!!

  63. Brian LaRoche says:

Tried out a “Free” I.Q Test, next thing was a $9-99 Charge on my Cell phone, because I
gave my cell phone number for the resultrs to be texed.
Subsequeently blocked them by going into my account of my cell phone provider and blocked ALL “premium” charges.

  64. George Gomez says:

Contact the FCC to complain. I did. I there are enought complains they will investigate.

  65. Sandra Bain says:

I was billed for a service I never ordered with this company and want to have it cancelled. I dont know how it got started; but I want it to stop and my account not billed the $9.99 again.

  66. Andy Crofford says:

I’m being charged by flycell and csw ringers for ring tones I never ordered or want. I have been charged $9.99 by both for the last 3 months. I want my money back and cancel this crap. Have called the number to cancel on csw and told was cancelled but still being charged. Stop it now

  67. Janet Hindman says:

I have had the $9.99 charge show up on my Sprint bill every month since Jan.’08. Each time, I’ve contacted Sprint, who gave me a credit back each time. I’ve contacted CSW in all the ways they list for cancelling, but still each month I get the same charge. Last month, Sprint said they put a block on my account to prvent any other CSW charges, but apparently that does not work. Just got my April statement today (4/21) and guess what??!!! Another $9.99 charge for CSW ringers!! AARRGHH!

  68. william baldassari says:

i want this service canceled and to be refunded i never order this

  69. william baldassari says:

    i want this cancelled

  70. Cody McLean says:

i was charged for ringtones i did not want.9.99 and i can’t get money back

  71. Cody McLean says:

i bought phone card 4hrs ago and they had charged me before i was activated. how

  72. John says:

looks like 71 people so far got scammed, who the hell would pay 5+ dollars a week for some lame jokes it is some bull crap

  73. Bobby says:

received a text message saying i was subscribed to joke of the day 3 times a week @ $9.99 a month. called and talked to Kenny for over an hour and a half. After i asked to speak to an english speaking supervisor 7 times he said he would send me a check by mail from australia. its been a couple of weeks with no check i hope its coming.

  74. susan ramsey says:

some one put your ringtone thing on my cell phone and i want to canceled it. i dont know how to send text messaging on the phone. so please cancel it on your end. my cp number is 314-215-9620. i did not authorize it and want it stopped!!!!!

  75. morga says:

I have been getting charged $9.99 x 2 (acotel binary and csw ringtones) for at least 3 months – $60. I’ve had NO luck getting these charges reversed, nor ANY help from Sprint to get my money back. The guy at the sprint store today gave me the website address and told me he had luck getting them to reverse the charges when he called. Pffftttt I’ve had NO such luck and I’m sick of these fraudulent charge I never signed up for.

  76. Shelly says:

The oversite was my fault – I don’t look at the bill that closely. However, this month it seemed really high – There was an m-Qube charge on my husband’s number – So after asking him, I researched and we’ve been charged $19.99/month since November! AT&T removed the charge and refunded April, but that is as far as she could go back. I put a note on the m-Qube site when I went in to cancel the subscription. We will see if it’s on next month’s bill!

  77. Nona says:

I have a family plan with myself and 2 children. Upon checking my monthly bill getting ready to pay it I noticed this charge for 71769 Jokes. When I asked my son about it he didn’t know anything about it. Came to this site. Have sent a text message to stop it. Tommorrow will go to US Cellular and see about having site blocked from my account.

  78. Orla says:

CSW Group 71769 advertises “free ringtones” However, there is actually a charge of $20 applied to the cell account. I called ATT customer services. I was told the subscription would be cancelled and the $20.00 refunded to my account. This should be reported to the FCC.

  79. Lisa says:

I was billed $19.99 for one month for something from m-Qubw Inc. My daughter (age 11) thought she was getting a free ringtone. I canceled direct bill with Cingular, and received a confirmation e-mail that we will not be billed again, but I am having trouble getting a refund.

  84. Michelle says:

I just checked out my AT&T bill for this past month and I noticed a $19.99 charge for a service I never received. I plan on contacting AT&T to have this removed from my bill as I never subscribed nor have I ever received anything for this charge. I also saw the m-Qube Inc. on my bill and will check out their web site to cancel any service THEY THINK I want, BECAUSE I DO NOT!!! Watch your cell phone bills very closely as it seems people are now tapping into that service!!! I WILL NOT PAY FOR A SERVICE I DID NOT AUTHORIZE NOR AM I RECEIVING!!!

  85. Bonnie says:

I have never signed up for any of these services and can not get Verizon to tell me how to cancel them. Each month there is another charge and I call Verizon and they tell me something else for the past 4 months, and the advise was different each month. I would like a simple answer in how to cancel this services that I have know idea how to use.

  92. Rebecca says:

My Autistic child carries a cell phone for emergencies. CSW has charged her cellphone $5.99 per week and refuses to refund the charges. This is legalized theft in America.

  93. Brad says:

Just checked my cell bill and there is the CSW 9.99 charge that I did not order or want. I appreciate everyones comments and I will begin the process of unsubscribing by phone number and text messaging to have service removed that I of course don’t uses and don’t want. I hope these scammers all get their butts sued.

  94. Veronica says:

I was also charged $9.99 by csw for ringers. I called csw to stop the charges, but to no avail. I called Sprint and they put a block on all third party companies. This means I should no longer get any bill entries. I will inform everyone if there are any changes.

  95. tonya says:

i signed up for free ringtones. after it was too late, i noticed the free ringtone was in real small fine print at the bottom corner of the page. all i did was put in my phone number. how can you be charged from just a phone number? my 9 year old child could do that. anyway. i also think something should be done about this. these people need to be stopped. virgin mobile wont let me use ringtones that are not bought from them so i can’t even use what i’m paying for. who do we contact to stop this???

  96. Clifton Martin says:

Last month I noticed a $19.99 charge on my AT&T bill. I called AT&T and told them my husband does not download ringtones. After a few times of repeating myself customer service agreed to credit my account, which would take 2-3 months before it would take affect. She also said she would put a block on my husband’s phone # so this company could no longer apply charges to his phone. This month I have the same $19.99 charge on his phone, that supposedly had been blocked.

  97. Janet Hughes says:

A few weeks ago I received a text mess. saying I had subscribed to Joke Subscription service, which I had not!!! I then received another text saying if I would like to cancel this subscription to text them back with a ver # they had sent me. I texted them back and cancelled the service (which I had not even ask for at all). A few minutes later they sent me a text confirming that I had indeed cancelled. I just rec’d my cell bill and there was a $9.99 charge on it. I want this charge to be taken off my bill or someone from your co. to pay this charge back to my acct no later then Friday 13th 2008. If it is not credited back I will, get in that very long line seeking legal resolve. This was fraud!!!! I expect your immediate attention to this matter!!!!!!! Janet Hughes

  107. Pam H says:

I called Verizon to inquire about the $9.99 charge for Prem SMS 71769 Alert Subscription, expecting problems resolving this after reading some of the posts here. The representative immediately (before I even asked) credited my account and said he had cancelled the “service.” Great customer service from Verizon.

  108. Ed Clark says:

please remove from you list. I don’t use it at all. Thank you very much.

  109. John L says:

A charge for “mobile msgr alerts” of $9.99 for 71888 Alt has been showing up on my daughter’s cellphone bill. I’ve called 1-800-235-7105 without success. Sprint has been little help.

  110. Nathalie McNulty says:

  114. Kelly says:

You can use the following link to file a complaint about this company with the FCC:

    http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

I would also complain about your wireless company who allows this company to continue to add charges to your monthly bill without your permission and even after you let them know its unauthorized/fraudulent.

  115. Cheryll Crow says:

I have 2 $9.99 charges on my Sprint bill and I have never downloaded from this company. The only one I have ever downloaded from was Jamster and they provide great customer service.

  116. Sanjukta says:

Is any going to take care if this fucking ringtine company ? I never ever heard of this company neither I subcribed to it. But I cheked my bill and this stupid fucking company is charging me 9.99 . This service should burn to hell for cheating people like that.

  117. tena schmidt says:

i don’t know why noone is trying to stop this place or other places from sending unauthorized text messages . IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! check out fcc regulations on this matter

  118. RHONDA says:

These people are big ripoffs, they make you think you’re getting a free ringtone and start charging you 9.99 right away and when you say you don’t want it, they charge you anyway. Somebody needs to put a stop to these scammers. FAA should prohibit these type of companies from existing.

  119. Becky says:

Wow, I don’t know where to begin. I agree with all complaints listed before mine. I work at an accounting firm and my boss had noticed an unbelievably high cell phone bill. When looking under the detail, we noticed all of these third party service charges of $9.99/month. When looking back at all of our bills, we had been charged since September of 2007. Needless to say, we called Sprint and they took off the charges for this month and last month as well and then placed a block on my bosses phone from these services. The companies that were on the bill were: Buongiorno/Blinklo club, CSW-71769, Funmobile, and Thumbplay. So if you see these, BEWARE! When looking online, I’ve notice a lot of people are having the same issue. We didn’t get a refund but are happy to know that these services can be blocked! So be sure to ask your cell phone service provider to do that. Best of luck to you who get screwed like we did. Now we have to keep an eye out for next months bill to make sure the block went through, they were supposed to block it last month:(

  120. Serhiy says:

Sprint charged me for purchases of 9.99 through opera telcom binary for something I never subscribed for. Please help getting it off!

  121. Pat Willcox says:

$9.99 month unsolicited chrg. Kevin @ CSW (877)-225-1198 197 Portland St,7th fl, Boston,Ma 02114 stated that I must have my provider (Sprint) call reference this and then CSW will give me a refund.

  122. Christina Young says:

Charged my daughter for ringtones she did not subscribe to.

  123. Manuel says:

Can you help for cenceled CSW71769

  124. Jessica says:

I was also charged by the company for some jokes. Never received one but they charge me 9.99. My husband and I only have one cell phone which is 95% of the time with me only. We rarely use it so I had no idea how these charges showed up until I googled it! I called my cellphone company who promptly removed the charges and blocked this company or any other company from text messaging this crap to my phone. The amazing thing is when the rep went to cancel this service she told me it was already cancelled. It’s amazing I only have this “service” for three days (I was billed starting 7/20) and they charged me for a full month and cancelled me three days later! This company is a rip-off and needs to be watched!

  125. Clint says:

My sister-in-law had 1 $10 charge from 71769 for at least one month, possibly more. She never signed up for it and had no idea it had happened.

  126. Rosalinda says:

I have been charged by my phone company Sprint in the amount of $9.99 for some ringtone that I have never purchased from CSW Ringtones 71769. Please do something about this company ripping people off. How do I cancel if they have me in there computer or how do I get these charges of my phone bill.

  127. Keri Ann and Ken says:

We never signed up for this but it showed up on my bill this month! I emailed Sprint and we will see what happens. My husband also called the number provided. This really sucks!! The fact that they can get away with this. I think a class action is needed to get our money back!

  128. Mike Barbour says:

I just looked at my last Sprint/nextell bill and here’s $9.99 charge for downloads? I called my carrier and they say I must deal with it through CSW and so I try and do the 71769 and cancel and they say I dont have an account there But then why the charge?? Hummm. sounds like a case to me!!

  129. Caroline says:

Ok, i have a Verizon Wireless pay-as-you go LG chocolate cell phone. Yesterday, I bought a 30$ top-up card for my phone. I got a text message from some odd number like 69-7648 or something and it took about 10 dollars off and i got one today and it took off another ten, and i had already used the other money for texting and calling. So i am out 20$ and i dont know what to do!

  130. Andrea V says:

Mike Barbour I know what your saying. Sprint directed me to this company also. I called them twice same person picked saying I do not have an account and they are NOT Opera Telecom: Ringers – Opera Telecom Binary

  131. Andrea V says:

Also my husband was signed up for Dada Mobile: Ringers – DADA Binary, SendMe Mobile: Ringers, Flycell: Ringers, Jamster, Mobile Messenger: Chat , Opera Telecom. SOME ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN FOR THESE COMPANIES! I called a few of them said they have a system where they send you a text with pin and you have to activate it that way. My husband is a United States Marine in the middle of the desert. he isnt activating ANYTHING. Mobile messanger is the WORST. RUDE WOMEN ON THE PHONE THERE.

  132. Dana says:

I have no clue why I am being charged or how I even subscribed to this…

  133. Dana says:

I keep getting charged on my phone bill

  134. Lyn Blanchard says:

I was charged $9.99 and I absolutely know I did not put a pin number in my phone nor did anyone else. I found a number through the white pages, but it is almost impossible to talk to anyone. Finally, I was told that they would cancel my service, but I have to pay this month. I deeply resent having to pay for something that I did not order. I am frustrated by the charge and the time it has taken to get this resolved (if it is resolved).

  135. Bri says:

I have no idea why i’m being charged 9.99 a month for something i didn’t sign up for! but i have virgin mobile and it will randomly be taken out of my account and i don’t know how to stop it!!

  136. Andrew Dill says:

I have never approved of any charges and I want this 9.99 charge to STOP!!! I will sue if I can!!!

  137. Joel Ruiz says:

I received a text offering a “complimentary Ring tone”. I ignored it and a few minutes later received another text saying “still interested in your complimentary gift?” I ignored it again. I hope I don’t get bothered again on charged 9.99 or anything like that!

  138. Diane says:

Just saw a 9.99 charge for subscription to a jokes alert 71769 scam on my 12 yr olds phn. Of course my husband is upset with her and it appears to be nothing she has done. Have a call in to USCellular. Will try the 877-225-1198 # and the 800-249-5104 # in the meantime. Would like to get ahold of the *ssholes ear who came up with this scam.

  139. Ed Miller says:

Postings 80 and 81 by Justin are incorrect. Those addresses are for cswgroup.com which is NOT related to this issue. The real CSW is in Asia. Incorrect information can be a bad thing.

  140. Nena Close says:

Same problems, have entered STOP and sent to 71769 and get response that subscription is cancelled, but the charge keeps showing up. These scammers will keep changing addresses and toll free numbers so they don’t get caught. Learned my lesson – that nothing is ever “free” on the internet – you pay the hard way by allowing scammers access to personal info.

  141. David Froelich says:

received 2 SMS texts and 2 $9.99 charges from 71769, 2 days apart. This was during a 1 month period when the phone was lost in the trunk of my car, so I know these were unsolicited, because nobody could have requested it!

These charges occurred the day after I was charged for the 90 day automatic $15 recharge, so now it’s back down to almost nothing!

Virgin mobile says it’s a separate company and I have to request a refund from them, but I don’t know how to contact them!

  142. marcus nicolson says:

my son had £9.31 took off his phone and he didnt even subscribe to the service! so work that out!

  143. Roberta Klemmer says:

I was charged 9.99 a month for something I did not authorized ever!! it had it on my cell phone that I responded yes to a text from ringtonetimes.com but I never did that. I am 49 yrs old I am not into differant types of ringtones, the one I have is all I need. they must be able to authorize it somehow on their end, by the time I found out they have stolen 30 dollars of my top up money and I feel so violated and angry. will someone please help?!

  144. Dan Morrissey says:

OK, this is emabarassing – I had no idea that this company has been ripping people off long before I ever fell for this. I am a web site developer/programmer and easily fell for this scam after my 11 yr old daughter asked me to approve her getting these free ring tones (which she never got). But since there didn’t appear to be any fee and they didn’t ask for any credit card info I figured it was pretty harmless. A full year later trying to figure out exactly why Verizon seemed to be nickle-and-diming my bill to distorted proportions, I discovered this “Premium Text Service” charge burried into an obscure segment of the bill details. Verizon, intimately familiar with this charge, is suspiciously vague in their references to it. Only persistant probing do they provide information about it, but if you don’t ask directly if this charge is coming from another company, they won’t offer the information. I went off about this, threatened legal action and demanded to speak with an executive and only then THEY REFUNDED THE ENTIRE YEARS WORTH OF CHARGES TO ME ($120). FIGHT AND DON’T STAND FOR THIS. PEOPLE MUST BE WILLING TO TAKE ACTION.

  145. Terrie Mason says:

I just got off of the phone with Verizon Wireless about PREM_SMS 71769 charges of 9.99 on my daughter’s line. I complained that Verizon should not do business with a company that embeds their subscriptions into the lengthy Terms and Conditions and does not clearly indicate charges will occur. They reversed all of the 9.99 charges. I’m still very frustrated about the whole thing. The cell phone companies hide under the excuse that it’s a 3rd party vendor and that my daughter was asked twice to confirm the subscription – this was not the case! I think it’s terrible that Verizon is doing business with a 3rd party who has such disreputable business practices. If you get these charges – INSIST that your cell phone provider remove them! Ask to speak to a supervisor! Tell them these are bad business practices and maybe they will eventually stop.

  146. edward burke says:

My wife wanted to get me a ring tone of my favorite song. When she saw a free ring tone advert she looked into it, realizing that it wasn’t free she stopped the inquiry. Seven months later I am at the AT&T store buying a new phone when I discovered I am being charged for a subscription I never subscribed to. What scam artist, they asked upfront for your cell number and begin charging you $19.99 a month. I never used this service. I called CSW and the guy tells me my (membership) is 19.99 a month the ring tones are free. (my restaurant serves free food -it’s the forks that cost you $100.00) When I told him we never joined anything he said he will cancel my membership but the other charges are not refundable. I called AT&T and they refunded most of the charges. I also told AT&T they could not being doing business with these scam artist. How do some people sleep at night?

  147. Sharon says:

What a rip-off!!!! Unsolicited charges that re-occur. These people need to be stopped. I’m contacting the FCC, T-mobile and every consumer that I can contact.

  148. Corey says:

The 9.99 charges first appeared 2 months ago. I went and paid my bill at verizon. I was told to text cancel subscription to 71769 which I did. I just got this months bill, and the charges are back on my bill. I never signed up for this, never recieved a text, ringtone or anything from them, and never wanted to. I googled 71769 and wound up here. So I called 1-877-225-1198 and demand to know why I’m being charged for these sevices that were never signed up for, nor recieving. The guy tells me he canceled the subscription, but to get any kind of a refund, I have to email them my bill with the charges on it. I will be going to talk to verizon about this, and I will get all charges credited one way or another.

  150. Liz says:

So I was scammed like everyone else and I called the number numerous times and bitched at the guy like hardcore. Then I realized the guy sounded the same every time I called he just gave a different name. Thats when I realized that I’m probably talking to some dude in his basement and not an actual call center. So I called him out on it and of course he denied it but after literally 45 minutes of screaming at him and threatening to call the news and law enforcement etc. he broke down and agreed to send me a refund check. He actually seemed worried when I mentioned calling my local news station. But anyway I was doubtful that I would receive a check but lo and behold 3 weeks later, today, I got a check in the mail. The check is issued by :
    Mobilefunster, Inc.
    1155 Chess Drive
    Suite 122
    Foster City, CA
    94404.

Kinda crazy seeing that he said the company was operated out of Australia. The bank issuing the check was
    Silicon Valley Bank
    3003 Tasman Drive
    Santa Clara, CA
    95054

Hopefully this information will help any of you trying to get your money back. I just know how much it sucks to get scammed out of your own money especially when it just comes out of the blue and it’s nothing you even signed up for. I am going to contact my local news to help get people aware of this because I feel so strongly about nipping this in the bud. Good luck! – Liz

  151. beatrice fleureau says:

cancel my sunscription. never subscribed to this.

  152. pissed off says:

    after just talking to verizon…

you must text to the number that is billing you just the word STOP there can be NO quotes exclamation points or signature on your text, so if you have a signature set up you MUST turn it off before doing this…Hope this helps!

  153. Monica says:

I just filed a complaint with bbb.org for unauthorized charges I received. I filed a complaint against CSW Ringers, dada.net and TheIsh.com…ALSO against sprint because they shouldn’t be allowing 3rd party companies to charge our cell phone accounts. If we all start complaining to the Better Business Bureau then maybe something can be done with these scamming companies!

  154. paul says:

I am getting charged $10 a month for the ringtone service. I never submitted for it. Please let me know how I can cancel the service

  155. Joe says:

I saw the 9.99 charge on my billed when I recieved it, called Verizon and they told me thye can do nothing about the charge and that I optioned for it. I did not subscribe to anything anywhere, recieved a text messat on my phone stating a ad to subscribe and I did nothing but erase the message. No I am being billed and Verizon told me I had to handle it with CSW. This is horrible and not legal!!

  156. Susan says:

Topped up my Virgin Mobile account and instantly $9.99 was debited with code “71769″. I immediately called VM and they said to call CSW. CSW told me the same bogus story as you’ve read on this site. I had not signed up for a ringtone, graphic or a root canal. :)
CSW would not connect me with a supervisor. Back to VM I go, tell them to credit my account the $9.99. They say it can’t be done, have to dispute the charge with CSW. Back to CSW I go, they give me the same bogus story. Called VM back again and told them to credit my account or I would have my credit card company withhold the amount I had just topped up. Finally, they agreed to credit me the amount “in minutes” to my phone. I DO NOT understand why cell phone companies put up with this type of scam. I told VM my account was with THEM, and CSW did not have access to my credit card so how was CSW going to be paid the $9.99 in the first place. VM finally said that they do pay this company when CSW debits a VM account. Unbelievable!!
I called CSW back and demanded a refund, “Matt” (certainly not his real name) said he would have the company send a check for the $9.99. I refused to give him a paypal account number. So, the ole “checks in the mail” routine. Time will tell. He did give me a number for an office in Boston 617-722-4128. Haven’t tried that number yet.
I did call CSW back and press 1 to remove my number from their database and also put a block on my VM phone so I won’t receive a txt msg from CSW.

I have a Sprint phone that has been getting a 9.99/mnth charge for 4 months. I spoke to a CSR at Sprint the first month and he told me had blocked them from charging me…which did not work. After calling every month for 4 months, another CSR informed me that I must send a text message to “71769″ saying stop, end, quit or unsubscribe and that will stop the subscription (which I did not agree to). I mean hello, I can’t even pay my bill with Sprint without having a PIN # or answering a security question…how can some bogus company bill me through my sprint bill for something I don’t even want?? Also, I have never even received a ringtone, joke or horoscope from this company.

  158. Wolfgang Beck says:

I never ordered an abo. I told my company not to pay anymore! Stop take money from my handy. You are criminel!

  159. Casey says:

We have been charged between 10.19 and 11.99 monthly since April. I had Verizon block this service. I called the CSW customer service line which is 1 877 225 1198. This is the correct number. I tried to talk with 2 different CSR’s which neither spoke clearly to where I could understand them. They read from the same script.
They told me that my wife had gone on their web site and entered her cell phone number and ordered the service, which she never did. She doesn’t even know how to get text messages off her phone and only uses the internet for e-mails. I could not get any supervisor on the phone and they said they will not refund the charges unauthorized by either of us. I guess the next step is joining a class action suit in where the lawyers get all the money owed to everyone. You just can’t win sometimes. This company is a scam operation. The CS reps are of Vietnamese origin working out of Australia. NAFTA doesn’t work!

  160. Casey says:

I did just talk to a Verizon CSR and asked why they allow third party companies to invoice bills through Verizon without the owners permission or authorization. I was told Verizon would credit our account with the amount CSW billed us without our consent.

  161. Beverly Parker says:

I have been charged for several months for CSW 71769 ringtones which I NEVER ordered and for the last 6 months or so, they have been charging my phone 10.01 and my minutes have been coming up low. I sent a text to them telling them not to take from my minutes again and they constantly did it. I called Verizon they gave me their text code and told me to text them back and text stop…quit…cancel…unsubscribe…I did they sent a text back saying unsubscribed, Verizon then blocked them. I am out of over 100.00. I need to know how I can get my money back from these scam artist. They refuse to put my money back on my phone. Everytime I told them to STOP breaking into my account STEALING my money they wouldn’t. I even threaten them with Consumer Affairs. They never stopped. I had to get Verizon to show me how to stop them…TODAY! I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK ON MY PHONE!!!

  162. Casey says:

I was able to get Verizon to credit my account the amount charged on my cell number. That worked for me. I asked Verizon how they can allow a third party to bill them without checking with the Verizon customer to make sure they authorized the service? This would be an easy fix for Verizon or any other cell provider given I get text messages from Verizon for special offers all the time. I hope this helps.

  163. mason says:

the official web site http://www.ringtonetimes.com as i know when the cell phone user have been enter number to the web site and the mobile user will receive the 1st text messager, on the 1st text message it have been clearly mention the charge information so if mobile user still enter the security PIN which is from the 1st text enter back to the http://www.ringtonetimes.com that mean the mobile user was agree to subscribe to the service so this CSW will charge to the phone directly. for more information can contact to 1877 225 1198

  164. Susan says:

I received a check for $9.99. Be persistent.

  165. Paisios says:

T-Mobile to credit my account the amount charged on my cell number.

  167. Laurie says:

Discovered 2 months of charges of $9.99. Never ordered and do not want this service. AT&T very helpful – removed all charges and blocked my account for phone purchases.

  168. Chris says:

I got two mails i have to charge, but i don’t get any services of CSW. Don’t charge me anymore!!!

  169. emmaleigh says:

i been getting charges for a premium text from that number but i never even heard of it so then we called and complained but its still there. 9.99 a month for like 11 months ):

  170. tobey says:

  171. Jerzy Dmytruk says:

wahrscheinlich habe ich irgendwann einen Ton heruntergeladen, und seitdem erscheinen auf meiner Telefonrechnung ständig Ihre Leistungen. Ich möchte sie ab sofort kündigen. mfg Jerzy Dmytruk

  172. Nora Allali says:

Ich will keine Geschichte erzählen. Ich ärgere mich sehr über den kriminellen Umgang mit Daten. Ich widerufe mit sofortiger Wirkung mein von ihnen erschlichenes Abo und erwarte das sie die abgebuchten 4,99 Euro sofort zurück überweisen.

  173. Matt says:

    Similar to above.
Virgin Mobile account charged 9.99 and text message sent saying I was signed up for 9.99/mon ringtone plan: “UR subscribed 2 Hit Song” then a PIN number to the site. I too never signed up for anything from these scammers. I called VM but they said it the charge hadn’t even appeared on their system yet. (I couldn’t see it yet either on my VM online account activity.) I immediately applied my credit (from Topping Off) into my minute plan so I wouldn’t have a large enough credit balance for them to try again. Very coincidental/suspicious that they scammed the 9.99 about 1 hour after I added $30 to my VM account. Almost like they have automated phishing program hitting accounts to see if credit exists! Just a theory! I’ll be following up with VM, as I don’t suspect this scam site gives a dam!

  174. Ian says:

I was tempted to try a IQ test, it appears that I am a genius- which still didnt stop me from pressing the wrong button and getting Euro 4.99 to my tel: costs!
What can I do to cancel it?

  175. ballerbiker says:

i never asked for this service

  176. Doyle Price says:

I never orded this and I do not want it. Please stop it ASAP

  177. Doyle Price says:

well if I already said I do not want this, then stop charging me for it already!

  178. noy says:

    Elena Beike

  180. You guys are at fault says:

I can’t believe some of you. NONE of these companys get your number till YOU give it to them. They have terms and conditions that clearly state you must be over 18. If you children signed up, they commited fraud by miss-representing themselves as an adult and the company can actually sue YOU for it lol. All you douch baggers deserve what you get. You go online trying to cheat the system searching for FREE ringtones and you get hooked into a subscription by NOT READING what is posted right in front of you…How dumb do you got to be to think something that has you put in your number and agree to terms and conditions would be free? Seriously. And your kid signed up? Have you tried supervision? Have you tried educated your children? No, you neglect them and let them sit in front of comp. and TV all day. I repeat. you all deserve this crap for being crap. Lazy whinny douche’s~

  181. You guys are at fault says:

Oh, and your carrier is the one billing you. They get a peice of the pie too. Why do you think they let all these companys use there billing system to charge you?

  182. Matt says:

Why thanks for pointing that out.
You sound like an authority on phone companies and child raising.
I’ll be certain to read all future notices on websites I’ve never been to. Therefore I will no longer be a douche bag.

    But I don’t want too whine….

Come on asshole… Since the Cell Carriers allow these sites to “debit” (in the case of Virgin Mobile) your balance, they merely have to randomly/systematicly put in requests until they get approval. And as you accurately point out… The carrier has no incentive to block the transaction as they are making a couple of buck every time it happens.

  183. Joyce Edgerton says:

I also noticed like many of the others that I was being billed for ringtones via csw for a service I don’t use or need on my prepaid virgin mobile phone. I notice as soon as I make my payment to top up, the account is low again within 2 days. That is because CSW is taking 9.99 from me UNAUTHORIZED! WHAT A SCAM.

  184. Kevin says:

I found this CSW crap on my bill, they said it was for a ringtone but I use an iPhone and all my ringtones must be purchased through iTunes so I know I was a victim of a scam. Fortunatley AT&T was more than helpful, not only did they block this scam but they also locked my account and gave me a PIN so that nothing can be purchased unless I approve it with a PIN

  185. donna johnson says:

i am an idiot or victim . i have been paying for this for years.here i am again being an ahole giving out my e-mail sprint told me it’s for ringtones so i thought my son needed it. lost my job so i started looking into all extra charges on my sprint bill, which i didn’t have time before. how much of an a hole have i been

  186. kersten says:

Our phones are through sprint through our buisness. For the past two months I have been billed $9.99 for csw ringers. Funny thing is that purchases are not authorized on our phones. So how was that phones signed up for these services?

  187. Shauna says:

I have been being charged since June ‘08. I called verizon and they did credit me for 4 months but that is still 8 months they scammed me for. Any idea how to get reimbursed? Or have this investigated for fraud?

  188. Marion says:

I have been charged since April 2009 for a ringtones-service, that I have never ordered. Please cancel the service immediately!

  189. Alex says:

ya i just got yelled at it cuse they charged 20$ on my att bill! i told my parents ive never signed up for it or heard of it because all data with the exception of mms mesaging is blocked on my blackberry. i had no clue wat CSW was so i googled it and i came acrost this forum and thanks to this i got my phone back! but this is crazy that they do this. ive been getting sms msgs sayin”your CSW subscription is renewed and u have 10 credits left”. not know wat it was i simply ignored it. but ive been getting this msgs for 2years and this is the first ive ever been charged for it. i must say CSW gona get an unpleasent phone call from me in the morning< and then i am going to be sure att blockes them.
