They claim my son (age 14) signed up for Voicemail Direct and US Credit Find. I checked his email for a confirmation and there was none. I have since requested the LOA sent to ILD from each company.

    AT&T Settles Cramming Suit
    Unauthorized charges plagued wireless subscribers
    June 3, 2008
AT&T has agreed to settle a class action suit stemming from unauthorized charges, placed by third-party providers, on the bills of its wireless customers – a practice common referred to as “cramming.”
AT&T Wireless customers nationwide were affected. The settlement, which was preliminarily approved by a Georgia court, entitles AT&T Wireless customers to receive refunds of unauthorized charges.
Consumers complained that they were being charged for such things as ringtones, games, graphics and news or other alerts that generally are purchased over the internet and are charged directly to customers’ cell phone bills.
Although these products were not available in the United States as recently as five years ago, they have evolved to form a large and increasingly lucrative industry. The lawsuits alleged that there were not adequate safeguards in place to ensure that customers are only billed for services they agreed to purchase.
The company noted that this is the first nationwide settlement of its kind and promises to serve as a benchmark for the mobile content industry more generally. It said its competitors, including Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, face similar lawsuits.
Attorneys Jay Edelson, Myles McGuire and Scott A. Kamber of KamberEdelson, LLC, were appointed by the Court to serve as the co-lead attorneys for the class.
“This is both a great result for the class and should put a lot of pressure on other carriers to demonstrate that they, too, are serious about their customers’ welfare,” Edelson said.
A special Web site, http://www.thirdpartycontentrefund.com, has been established for consumers who want to apply for refunds.

Since my wife pays the phone bill, we didn’t notice for a long time. Now, the old bills that list ILD (9.95 a month) were found. The new bill shows ESBI (29.30) a month and I have it blocked. I will be contacting my counsel regarding a lawsuit and want to get my money back. What slime! I hope they get arrested.

  4. Paul Lutus says:

Today I read my QWest bill and noticed a charge for $14.95 from ESBI for “Residential Email”. I have no account with ESBI and never authorized the charge, and I don’t even have Internet access by way of my phone company. I called ESBI and they immediately launched into a marketing spiel. I demanded that the charge be removed, and they proceeded to ask for a lot of personal information.

I managed to get ESBI to credit the fraudulent charge, which was made by a perfect stranger using a New Jersey e-mail address — and I managed to get the e-mail address of the perp (this criminal was a perfect fool, and will be prosecuted).

What a scam! ESBI’s business plan is simply to charge people for bogus services, spammers always need new, free email accounts, and all the latter needs to do is get someone’s name and phone number from the Web. And ESBI apparently has the right to put third-party charges on anyone’s phone bill.

The helpful troubleshooter at QWest described this as “more ESBI garbage,” which I thought summarized it perfectly. QWest agreed to block ALL third-party billings, all a customer needs to do is ask.

The Internet has any number of scam stories about ESBI stretching over decades, but they’re still in business.

  5. Trish says:

Yeah I’m in the same boat as all of you people… I just noticed the charges on my phone bill.. I wish i knew what it was before i started to pay for it. I wonder if i could get all my money back for paying something i didn’t get or approved of.

ILD Teleservices is a leading payment processor for transactions between merchants and consumers. Through contractual relationships with telephone companies like AT&T and Verizon, we give merchants the opportunity to let consumers charge products and services such as long distance, internet access, and collect calling directly to your phone bill.

As a result, instead of purchasing these items with a credit card or opening an account with the merchant, you can have a transaction billed directly to your phone. When you do, the merchant sends your transaction information to ILD, and ILD adds the charge to your phone bill. It’s a service very similar to what credit card companies provide.

If you have a charge you believe is incorrect, or if you have any other questions or concerns with ILD, please let us know. We want to address any and all issues you may have. To contact us, please email us at askild@ildmail.com. If you would prefer to call us, please call our hotline at 800-953-7765.

These crooks are charging me for voice mail and I don’t even have that feature on my phone. ILD, ATT and anyone involved should be punished.
ATT is allowing this company to steal from consumers and it should be stopped.
I’m joining the class action lawsuit against this company and I’m also filing a complaint with the better business bureau.

  8. Gloria Howell says:

They have placed unauthorized charges on my ATT account for the second time. They have done the same to my employer. When I asked for verification that I made the charge they were unable to provide it. I plan to file suit against them for soon.

  9. Cindi Hawkins says:

I was charged for long distance from my sister in law who was in the hospital, in a mental ward. They charged me 3.00 a minute to talk to her. This is highway robbery. Is there any way to fight the over-inflation this company took advantage of me for?

  10. Misty says:

I looked online at my AT&T bill this month (Feb, 2009)and there was a $14.95 charge for ILD teleservices. I did not order such services and do not appreciate it being added to my account without my knowledge! How can they get away with this!

  12. Francis says:

Beware, ILD is also in public payphone. I was charged 21.36 for a 2 minute call (confirmed by them). 1.29$ per minute plus over 15 $ of various fees. This is a ripoff. I cannot complaint to FCC, I was a tourist travelling in the US.

  13. Charles Young says:

I have landline phone service and DSL with AT&T. I pay for my long distance service on a seperate bill. My AT&T bill this month included $8.44 for ILD Teleservices.

I called AT&T and informed them that I did not order or want any services from or through AT&T other than DSL and landline phone. I asked them to remove the charges and block all future third party charges.

The customer rep replied that I have to call ILD Teleservices to cancel my service, and that AT&T is unable to block third party services.

As I explained to the rep, I did not order anything from ILD Teleservices, I do not know what ILD Teleservices is, and I should not have to call some unknown third party to correct my AT&T bill.

A similar thing showed up on my Sprint wireless bill over a year ago. It took two phone calls, but Sprint blocked all third party services on my wireless phones.

If AT&T is unwilling or unable to block third party services, then I will not be doing business with them. I left SWB for 10 years because they could not fix my selective call forwarding. They said it would be fixed, claimed it was fixed when it was not, and claimed that I did not know how to use the service after I had been using it for a few years. After 3 months, many calls, and writing a letter; I finally gave up on them. I was already upset with them for allowing MCI to bill me $5 per month for long distance for 3 months during which MCI was not even my long distance provider. Calls to SWB, MCI, and even the state Public Service Commission and state Attorney General’s office did no good.

During my 10 years with Navigator, they never once allowed any third party to add any charges to my bill. Navigator was more expensive than AT&T and did not provide DSL, so I went back to AT&T. Big mistake.

  14. Ashish Shah says:

Bogus charges ESBI Charges $16.00 for two months, called Verizon, call rep said it is from 3rd party and they can not do much. Only put claim for this charges. It is a scam !!!!

  15. Rose McBride says:

My AT&T bill was charged by ESBI (15.85+tax)& OAN (9.81+tax) both services I never knowingly ordered…….AT&T is of no help

  16. paul says:

ILD and US Credit repair were socking it to my Verizon phone bill for months at 9.99 and 19.99 for allegedly repairing my good credit. i always pay cash and don’t carry a credit balance that accrues interest.

SUBMIT YOUR COMPLAINTS HERE TO THE FCC … LET THE TSUNAMI IF COMPLAINTS HIT THE FCC HARD AND GET THESE LYING CROOKS SHUT DOWN. ILD is on the net telling you to call their 800 number where they will get your account credited for the last few bills, but the rule seems to be hat if they stole from you longer than that, then you don’t deserve it back.

Dear consumer: You can file your complaint using FCC Form 2000B electronically on the Internet at https://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm .

  17. David says:

ESBI has charage me $45 so far for services I did not order. Verizon sent me to a toll-free number for ESBI, but the person who answered asked me to provide the exact date of the ESBI charges, which I could not because I don’t receive a paper bill. So I have to go back to Verizon for the dates. I repeat: I did not order ESBI services, nor was I asked if I wanted them. They purloined my phone number and so far have collected $45 from me. When I saw the added charges for “enhanced services,” I figured it was something from Verizon. When those charges were on a second month’s bill, I called Verizon and found out what was going on. ESBI are scam artists. Someone go after them!

  18. Carol Cunningham says:

ILD / Voice Mail Professionals / AT&T all in cahoots to slap unathorized charges on unsuspecting AT&T customers. Why are these business still in business? What isn’t anyone going to jail?

  19. paul says:

COMPLAIN HERE TO THE FCC !!!!! EASY FORM EXACTLY FOR THIS PROBLEM.!!!!
Dear consumer: You can file your complaint using FCC Form 2000B electronically on the Internet at https://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm .

  20. Kurt says:

Just received a charge for $14.95 on my Qwest bill from ESBI that I never approved. The first thing I did was a google search on this company and line after line is complaints about them. I called them to remove the charges off my bill and they wanted tons of personal information. I gave them my phone number, thats all and said if you can put the charges on with that info you can take the charges off with that info. They claimed some name with my phone number and said they might have put in the wrong number. Bogus, its all a scam in hoping you don’t notice it on your bill.

  21. Peter says:

Ilona, I have forwarded you a mail, that I attempted to send to support@myvoicemailprofessional.com.

The real test of your company in my view is how you respond to this mail, and also how Voice Mail Professional responds to it. The guidelines that are stated above, have not been followed. As in none of your mails you have queried or questioned these I would expect a FULL refund of the 12 months of charges, that your company has presented to Verizon, my provider.

  22. Peter says:

ILD mailed me back very quickly. So it’s sit and wait now to see if I get a complete refund and the charges stop.

I’m also chasing ESBI for another set of charges that have been deducted from my phone bill on behalf of 123 Voicemail. I’ve gone to the their website and filed a complaint with their customer service department as well. I’ll post when I get something back from them.

  23. Peter says:

After a little bit of email backwards and forwards, ILD have submitted a credit request to Voice Mail Professional for the entire amount that I was charged. I will wait and see if this is reflected in my Verizon bill.

  24. nick says:

can someone take care of this company ILD!!! once and for all…I just called them today to question a charges on my phone for $41.95, which they claim I must charged for some internet service!?!?!? total scam… they told me they will stop the charges and re-imburse my Verizon account… after I was on hold for 20 minutes… sure send 12000 charges every months and re-imburse 10% .. good deal.. this Company is located in Florida which is the capital of Fraud of USA..

  25. gerry says:

ILD pulled this stunt on our Embarq bill. No indication of who the merchant/client was, or what services was allegedly being billed for. Needless to say it was unauthorized. ILD reversed the charge via telephonic request. Embarq told us that if we wanted “bil block” they were authorized to charge us $5.00 per month. $60 per year not to be scammed/cheated/scammed! Looks like our carrier Embarq really appreciates our business.

  26. Peter says:

Well my Verizon bill has had the credits applied. And Verizon have also blocked all further cramming from my bill. I would recommend that everybody should contact your carried and ask for ‘cramming’ to be blocked. If Embarq want $60 per year I would suggest that you explain your moving your business somewhere UNLESS they do this for nothing.

  27. David says:

I contact a friend who works for a government agency specifically charged with tracking down and handing over for prosecution any and all companies or individuals engaged in internet and telephone fraud, which are often intertwined. I can’t reveal his name, but I’ll paste in his response below. At his suggestion, I called Verizon and the woman I spoke with put a block on third party billing and also gave me customer ID and service ID numbers to refer to if the billing is not discontinued. Also at my friend’s suggestion, I declined to ask that my $45 billed by ESBI be refunded, just to keep things simple. Please read below about the sordid history of these companies and what you can do. I suggest we all call our State Senators and Representatives and demand action. Read on, friends.

Response from a government employee affiliated with the Justice Dept.
Agh, old ESBI. These guys have been at it for 11 years, and have been sued by 3 attorney generals in 3 different states ( lost them all), but because of VERY LOOSE federal government regulations, they are allowed to exist. ( yup, i am blaming my own people)

In brief: loosely worded regulations allow companies to obtain your info thru various forms/contests/or simply FREE offer requests you might have entered to at some point. All it takes is one time, and they can easily match your submitted e mail address with a phone number that matches with your name and/or your e mail. They then start billing you for various services ( that were very nicely hidden somewhere with the form/offer, so nicely, that you never see these). Verizon, nor any other phone company ever offers much help with this, because they get a healthy kickback ( they call it profit share to be legal) for these billings.

ESBI is a classic example of this practice, and on record there are over 628400 people who fell victim to ESBI, and another 13 million to other companies doing the same thing.

Here is the ONLY thing you can do that will prevent them from charging you again: Call Verizon and tell them that you are requesting a block of ALL 3RD PARTY BILLINGS for your account. This will kick back any ESBI attempts to charge you again.

Now, you are still out $45. Easiest is to eat it up and move on, but i suggest you still call ESBI, and hopefully you get another person who is a bit smarter. Tell them that you already filed all necessary fraud reports with FCC, FTC and attorney general, but you want to resolve it amicably and have them stop billing. They dont need much of personal info for that, but if they resist, hang up.

Verizon has a policy where they make a courtesy 1-time adjustment to these charges, and in your case, if/when they make that adjustment ( for last bill only), your loss would be $15. That, i think is a better option, because in order for you to receive Credit back from ESBI ( if they agree to do so) you must leave your 3RD PARTY BILLING FEATURE UNBLOCKED, and i prefer you dont do that.

    to sum it up.

call verizon ask for a 1 time adjustment to this bogus charge ( advising them that you have tried to speak with ESBI 10 times) regardless of whether or not they do it, request an immediate 3rd party billing block, and youll be ok,.

going forward, try to refrain from filling out anything online that promises something for free in return for your e mail address. That’s how it all starts.

  28. Peter says:

Another thing you might want to try is to contact the company that ESBI are billing on behalf of. I also had a $139 bill over a period of twelve months from 123 Voicemail. I rang them and emailed them and got them to reverse the full amount as well. I didnt manage to connect with anybody in ESBI for my complaint.

  30. Daniel says:

We received our Qwest phone bill today and this phony ILD charge of $7.78 was on it. We called Qwest about it and they said they would take off the charge ONLY ONE TIME because we have been with them for many years (BIG DEAL!) They said there is nothing they can do about it after that!

  31. Melanie says:

Had a charge on my local bill of $14.95 from third party ESBI. Never heard of company, never did any business with company, never authorized anything from this company. Called them, was very angry, was hung up on. Called local company, they charged back the $14.95 to ESBI and blocked all third party charges. I am so tired of all of these rip off companies out there always trying to cheat people out of their hard earned money! Please do something about this company.

  32. Michelle says:

Had a charge on my phone bill of 14.95 from ILD for voicemail services I never ordered. My husband called (phone is in his name), they told him I ordered it – then tried to get him to keep it for a chance at a $500 shopping spree. Then proceeded to ask for home address, phone number, email address, etc. They supposedly cancelled the service and are crediting back the charges – I’ll let you know. What a bunch of rip-off artists!

  33. Susan Kenworthy says:

Embarq (phone company) allowing an outfit called ILD to bill me $14.95 a month for Voicemail Professionals, a service or product? I never heard of or authorized. I canceled my landline service when Embarq suggested perhaps I “accidentally” signed up for this service. I informed rep I had read numerous accounts online of others having their bills slammed in this manner, and was sure Embarq was aware it was going on.

  34. Shelly says:

I have Embarq as my phone company and I hadn’t noticed until now that EBSI has been charging me $12.95 per month for something called Voicemail ID theft block for the past year. WTF. I called Embarq, they are going to put a block on my account but I still have to call ESBI to cancel? Why are they allowing outside companies to add things to my phone bill? Embarq should be sued as well as ESBI. I am so mad, I may just cancel my Embarq account altogether. I talked to a rep at ESBI and she said that I filled out something online called Online rewards.com back in June 08. Obviously it was in the fine print that I said it was OK to add their service to my phone bill. But I am going to blast them on every website known to man so that no one else falls prey to this BS!

  35. Shelly says:

We all need to look into filing a class action lawsuit against this company and the phone companies that allowed this company to add this to our accounts.

  36. Sherill Anderson says:

We received the $5.49 plus tax and fees on our Qwest bill. I telephoned 1-800-433-4518 at Qwest’s suggestion. The person I spoke with said she would put a “block” on our line and would send us a check for the full charge. She sounded official so who knows if this is a scam? We are sure we didn’t incur the charge. I wonder how many people pay this without noticing!

  37. Dave says:

I am an attorney looking into filing a class action lawsuit in California against the Verizon,ILD Teleservices and . I have been fraudently billed on two separate occasions by ILD and ComTel.

If you or anyone else you know have been fraudently billed, keep posting on this site and we will begin the process.

  38. Kim says:

I noticed a charge on my Verizon bill last month of $14.95 and imediately called to see what it was all about…it was for ESBI in care of Travellers Tech Support. I had never heard of them before and Verizon said it was a mistake…they did not tell me the truth. They said they would remove the charge from my bill yet it was on my next monthes bill along with a late fee of $5.00. This time I called ESBI and they actually told me the name of the person and her address that charged these services to my number, which happens to be my credit card line for my coffee shop so I have not a clue how they got a hold of that number…it’s not even on my bill. Verizon suggested I put a bill block on my phone service, which I did…I also contacted my local police dept. and they are doing an investigation into this scam…CALL The POLICE, CALL your STATES ATTY., CALL your CONGRESSMEN…PLEASE LET’S PUT A STOP TO THIS CRIME.

  39. Shelly says:

I feel that it doesn’t matter how many times these illegal billings are done. ILD has been sued before and they keep doing it which is obvious by all the complaints.

  40. Debbie says:

I discovered that ILD had been billing on my ATT landline account for 8 months on behalf of Family Contact 911 (completely unauthorized). ATT is filing a claim with the third party to see what will be refunded. I will call ATT landline and cellular and block all third party billing. Also, my mom had a charge on her cell phone (under my account), same thing. There’s a block on that line now.

  41. Sabrina says:

They charged my AT&T landline account for 3 months, we will see if it continues. Apparently because I am in California I don’t have the option to block out 3 party billing which is a bunch of crap. I don’t know what else I can do but will push forward with a suit if necessary.

  42. Tom says:

SICK OF IT. having several business accounts and home accounts, I don’t really go through my bills, it was about 8 months before I caught ILD’s crap on one account. Called AT&T, they are no help. I said screw it, I just never paid that portion of the bill….AT&T can’t cut off your service if you don’t pay 3rd party billing. They did finally send it in to a collection agency….I just ignored those letters. Let them come after me.
Now ILD has just showed up on my other business account. Really makes me mad. If there was another carrier option I would dump AT&T right now.
When I pay my phone bill, I make my check out to AT&T, not ILD or anyone else. AT&T knowing of this BS should take it upon themselves to verify any 3rd party billing.

  43. Bill says:

Same problem with ATT & ILD. They must be getting tired of people finding their scheme because ILD seemed polite and (after making it clear I wanted all back-charges dropped) that they would provide me the 2 additional month’s credit and block the so-called “service.” Not the first time I’ve had ATT issues!

On my mother’s phone bill, I was charged for voice mail that I have never signed up for or used in my entire life. Apparently, they have been charging my mother since May of 2008 & it has cost her over $250. They gave her 8 months credit & blocked the crooks from taking money from us again. However, she did say that they were extremely nice on the phone for scammers. Maybe that is why they are getting away with this so easily.

My Jan 19, 2010 ATT phone bill appeared with two bogus charges: 1) ILD TELESERVICES, inc. (on behalf of USCREDITFIND.COM, LLC for 19.99 (+1.40 tax) = 21.39, and another on behalf of MYBILLINGSVCS., INC. – V/M SETUP FEE for 8.43 (+.59 tx) = 9.02. I never ordered anything form either company, and have no need for their services!!! I just filed an FCC complaint (see posting above). THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! WHY IS IT ALLOWED TO CONTINUE?

  46. Phyllis says:

My AT&T phone bill was crammed with charges from ILD Teleservices on behalf of ISP-Secure.com. I called many times to be lied to and stonewalled by ILD. I refused to pay the charges and AT&T began adding late fees. I put a 3rd party block on incoming charges and now ILD claims that block prevents them from applying a credit. I filed a complaint with the FCC only to receive a form letter saying ILD doesn’t come uner the jurisdiction of the FCC and they referred me to the FTC, Consumer Response Center. I also sent an email to ILD (per their plea to solve problems). Now, it’s sit and wait for ILD to refund the bogus charges! Their customer service phone answerers (Nancy, Kay, Bonnie and Chantelle and others) are, in my opinion, totally rude, unprofessional and unyielding, but I assume that’s how they’ve been trained, to fit right in at a scam outfit like ILD!!!

I received a $14.95 charge from Brite voice system from ESBI- They have been charging me for several months but I just caught it on my phone bill (they put several months on one bill). I called and they told me there were an internet discount and couldn’t help me with my bill. I called my phone service provider and they removed the charges and told me to call ESBI back to make sure they stopped charging me. I have no clue how I got signed up for this but they used my home phone number which I don’t even know because I only have it for my security system, so I know I didn’t give it to them. I expect to have all my back charges credited back and it seemed easy to cancel but I think it’s shady that they can just enroll you without your knowledge

  48. Shay says:

I just noticed on my new phone bill that I received a $14.95 charge from HBS for some video, movies and music games that I had NEVER heard of nor did I order this service. They have billed me the last three months. When I contacted them, they said they could only cancel recent charges. I contacted AT&T and asked if they can be blocked and the rep said no. Its no way to do that. I will continue to watch my bills more closely and my bank accounts. These are some dirty bastards!!! I will be reporting them to the BBB. This needs to stop!

Jan AT&T bill we were charged $44.63 for Precision Comms Intl. On Feb 10 we called and supposedly will receive a refund 60 days. Just received Feb’s AT&T bill with $36.70 for Tericom Networks, LLC…hmm same customer service phone number as Percision Comms.

  50. CAJeffO says:

ILD Teleservices started billlng me with Third Party Charges VIA my phone bill starting in the late 1990′s.
I made requests to stop & got refunds on several occasions only to have them bill me for different amounts. Stop, Start, Stop, Start. Finally I told PAC Bell I would sue them & I got over $700 in refunds & it stoped for a couple of years.
Then AT&T took over. ILD TELESERVICES started the billing. AT&T tried to avoid my request. Finally I told them I would sue them for enforcing an illegal contract & they refunded even more.
WANT TO STOP THEM FROM BILLING YOUR PHONE? Threaten to File a small claims suit. It worked for me 2x. ALL I HAD TO POINT OUT WAS: They didn’t have a legal contract & I wanted them to prove they had a legal one.
Trust me! I have over a $1,000 in refunds.
And, ILD Even had the gall to threaten to sue me. I just laughed at the rats. Not a single leg to stand on. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

  51. Bruno Baltodano says:

Almost $200.oo were charged to my phone line when ILD made an illegal change to their long-distance provider.

  52. Joanne Hintz says:

$26 in charges from ILD was on our phone bill for monthly ringtones. We didn’t sign up for it and AT & T has done this to us before! I want it to stop!

  53. James Murphey says:

a friend called me collect 3 times from the New Orleans AMTRAK lobby and a ILD charge appeared on my debit card for about $50 PER CALL!!!!!! plus a $5 authorization fee! Insult to injury. they SHALL BE SUED

  54. Jack Hale says:

Whatever you do…..AVOID using Vartec and many of these dial around services. They add substantial hidden charges to your ATT bill, then ATT says they have no control over these charges and won’t take them off. This goes on for months wasting your time and money.

  55. Kareem Begum says:

I don’t know why i am getting TRSCN CLRNG charges included in my bill from AT&T,Since August,September and October. I want to re-fund my money. Please contact me on 817-323-7231

My daughter had a emergency C-section on 11/16/2010 at The Ohio State Medical center. I live in Indiana and was not able to get to Columbus until 11/18/2010. My daughter called me collect from the hospital 3 times. We talked for a total of 67 minutes. I just got my phone bill from ILD via Cinti. Bell, and was charged $231.85 or $3.45/minute. This is “hi-way robbery” and I think I will resist with all my might! These robbers need to dealt with. From my research it looks like the above 3 parties share in the booty, I can’t believe that a university hospital and Cinti. Bell, would be associated with something like this. I will be talking to them first thing in the morning.

  57. Ron H says:

I work in corporate accounting and have to call ILD at least once every two months to get services removed that we never signed up for. We have 50 locations in Michigan with 2-3 phone lines each and it’s a huge waste of time! They always claim someone requested the service, but when I ask for the name of who approved it, it’s always a name that doesn’t match anyone in the company (if they can even come up with a name; sometimes they can’t).

  58. Mattie Allen says:

I signed up for Phone service with AT&T in January of 2010. I had two lines [2 different numbers] put in. The services for both lines were the same, which included ‘All Distance” service. Suddenly on my February of 2011, there was an additional charge of $99.00 for long distance on my 2nd line. I was puzzled and though perhaps my daughter [who9m I purchased the second line for] had gone beyond tghe distance. So I paid it. But when my March bill had an extra charge of $77, I caled AT&T, they told me that my 2nd line did not include the long distance service, so I signed up for it AGAIN! Then I decided to look at previous bills and saw that I had not been charged before and that I had signed for it. After calling AT&T again and going ove the bill, we noticed the ILD services. When I called ILD, I said “Someone changed my long distance service to this company. I did not uthorize itn abd I want it cancelled right now”. The woman on the other end simply said okay, I’ll cancel it. [I don't remember if she asked my name or not]. So I said, ” so it’s cancelled now, just like that”. She said I’ll give you a confirmation muber [which she did]. Then I asked “Can you tell me who authorized this change”? She said that they would have to investigate it. I am very angry, first of all that they are able to do this remotely like this; and second that I paid for it. The number on my bill for billing questions is 708-433-4518. It is listed on my bill as “Optic Internet Protocol, Inc.

  59. Vickie says:

I got two $49 charges on this month’s home phone bill. When I called ILD they indicated that I had authorized this “enhanced internet presence package” for my business. I would not authorize anything of the kind as I do not WANT internet presence for my small company. I was told that my membership was cancelled and that my phone bill would be credited within the next two billing cycles. Fortunately, my phone company is allowing me to pay only my “real” bill. Thank Heaven’s someone is helpful. Whoever this VMC place is… watch out!

  60. Brian Newton says:

Small business line was charged $42. ILD said the charge was from Broadview Media. When asked how it was authorized and who authorized the charge they listened to a recording and said it was a women’s voice, but the name was unintelligible. I am the only one that is supposed to be able to authorize charges to our AT&T line.

  61. Marcela says:

This is a scam. What disgusts me is the fact that the likes of VERIZON and AT&T ALLOW it.
There is no way that these people should be able to add charges into our phone bills. Period.

  62. John says:

$14.95 a month for over 10 months – I’m stupid for not catching it earlier. They were friendly on the phone but they are charging for unauthorized services (cramming). The rep told me they authorize it by confirming your birthdate, name, address, phone number and ip address. The IP address used was dynamic so this doesn’t help. In essence, they can push these charges on you using this easily accessible public info. This is wrong – I hope someone sues them.

  63. Nelson Lewis says:

I made seven pre-paid phone calls from . Helens, OR to my home in PA, these calls were pre-paid through Global Telelink, then ILD Teleservices re-charged these calls as collect calls and added $580.44 to my phone bill for these seven appox. fifteen minute calls. I called my phone company (Frontier) and had the charges removed and a third party block put on my account, but I had never authorized ILD to make any charges to my account in the first place. If there are any class action or private suits against this company I would love to learn how to get involved and get these ripoffs to pay for their crimes.
