  1. Carl Bair says:

I never signed up for this site and they cahrged me for it and it makes me very upset.

  2. Dee Hafler says:

I am afraid to post my name etc., ESBI put a $12.95 charge on my phone bill without my consent. I tried to call them, but got several recordings, tried to leave a voice mail and that didn’t work. I don’t now what to do to get this off my bill.It scares me that someone can do this without my knowledge and seems to be getting away with it.

  3. Dee Hafler says:

I didn’t sign up for their so called service

  4. Keith Singleton says:

They signed us up saying that “Bob Jones” authorized it, gave his DOB and email address from our company. Only problem is, Bob Jones is a mythical VM box used to route annoying calls internally. He doesn’t exist! This is criminal. They should be sued and prosecuted for fraud.

  5. Bob Adams says:

I was signed up with my authorization also. I just found it on my phone bill today. I had been charged for it last month also, but hadn’t noticed the charges.

I contacted ESBI (AKA SBO-online) and talked to a MaryGrace Adulog, ext. #142251, at their support line in the Philippeans. She said that she could only cancel my service. She told me that I had authorized their service by accepting an e-mail from Tag.com. She said that I had been sent an e-mail from them which I could use to cancel their service. I checked in my sent box and found that I had replied to their e-mail, I had forgotten about it. I told them then that I hadn’t signed up for their service and wanted them to remove my name from their system. She said that they hadn’t received the e-mail. I asked her how she knew that and she said that she didn’t have a record of it. I still have the sent e-mail. I tried to talk to her supervisor, but she said that her supervisor was in a meeting. I have asked her to have someone call me in the next 4 hours to have the charges removed and refunded.

I then called Qwest. The representative told me that she has received a lot of calls about that company. All that she was able to do was to remove the current charges from my bill.

I would like to see a class action against ESBI and Quest both because Quest allows companies like this to bill without prior authorization.

  6. Bob Adams says:

I was typing too fast and didn’t read before I sent. The first line should read “I was signed up without my authorization.”

  7. Kathy Cranford says:

My qwest account was charged 15.25 for 4 months. I never authorized this charge and I never ordered anything from ESBI or SBO. How can Qwest charge my acct when I am the only person authorized to make changes? I think Qwest should also be held accountable for allowing charges and not notifying their customers. You would think that would be against policy.

  8. Heather says:

I had a third party block on a phone line for my mother-in-law. Besides that, only my husband and I were AUTHORIZED to make any changes. My sister-in-law signed up for some email service and voice mail service using HER NAME, and in one case HER ADDRESS, but they still added the charges! It took me a couple months and several phone calls to get it removed. The phone company didn’t know how it happened since we had the block on there. The removed the block and added a new, advanced Third Party Block. No problems since on that line.

  9. Heather says:

Got a call today from SBO Online. Says my husband signed up today with his email address, DOB, and our address. The problem? Both our computers were tied up in an online webinar at the time, and so was the phone! Either someone else signed him up OR they just called out of the blue.

  10. Beth says:

Last month I called AT&T about additional charges on out phone bill, they said I had to call Enhanced Billing Services and take it up with them . So today I called EBS and they re-routed me to SBO as they couldn’t “help” me. Who are these nuts! SBO has been billing me for 6 months (15.25), so that’s since July!!! I asked how I “ordered” the service. They said we ordered via the web their “Survival Kit” which they claim is health insurance! What? They said they sent confirmation to an e-mail address that is NOT ours! It’s bogus! They said they would refund only 3 months (about 45 dollars). I was furious. I told them I wanted to contact SBO on my own and try for the other (45.00). What’s worse is AT&T charged me tax! Yes TAX on the bill of $1.12 per bill! It will be interesting to see if they will refund that. So now I will have to look at the bill carefully. I don’t trust anyone…I will never give out my e-mail or phone again!

  11. wesley says:

I’ve been receiving this erroneous charge on two business phones and one residential for over a year. Can’t stop it with AT&T and get some offshore office in the Phillipines that is completely evasive when I call. This is a total fraud. What can we do?

  12. wesley says:

I get this charge on 3 bills. Total fraud. Please help!

  13. Vicki says:

Got my Embarq Phone bill with a charge of $15.25 charge from SBO Online and did’t have a clue what it was. Called them to see what is was about, and they said I authorized this service, which I did not. I requested to be refunded the charge and the lady said all she could do was cancel the service. These people need to be investigated and required to give back what they stole from innocent people.

  14. SEAN CALHOUN says:

PHONE BILL EMBARQ HAD ADDITIONAL $30.20 FOR HSB AND ESBI AKA FIND YOURDIET.COM AND SBO SURVIVAL KIT? NEW SERVICE ON THIS MONTHS STATEMENT HAVE NOT PAID YET WILL CALL SOMEBODY IN THE MORNING…..

  15. Dorene Roy says:

I too have fallen prey to the above website in question. I have been charged for “third party services” that I DID NOT approve.

  16. Mary Quillin says:

Cannot believe this! When I called, they said they are receiving high volume calls…. of course they are! It’s all the people they are ripping off!

  17. Amy Glaser says:

I received a charge from ESBI (SBO-ONLINE.ORG this month. The representitive I called at 877 726 4222, Gilbert Valesco, claimed that the service was requested by my husband when he visited a web site. I requested immediate cancellation and a refund. I was given a cancellation confirmation number and told it will take up to too cycles for the credit to appear on my phone bill. I will call my phone company as well.

Absolute fraud. I will wright my attorney general.

  19. Jorge says:

In Feb. 08, I got a charge in my ATT account from SBO-online for 29.95, I call asking for that charge and they toll me that they take care and removed from that from my phone bill, also, they send me a confirmation number for that claim, guess what! I never got that number and never more can reach the customer service phone. Now, after 15 months still trying to remove that change from my phone bill, and of course, I never payed that, but still a scam that has to be stopped.

  20. Brenda tittle says:

I just received these unauthorized charges on my bill. Thanks to this website i called the toll free number provided and told the person on the line that I had not authorized this account and wanted full re-embursement for these charges sent to Embarq. I then called Embarq and informed my representative that I had canceled this and would not be paying the charges as they promised to issue a credit. He said it could take two billing cycles for them to get the credit and noted my account. It is sad that people can put unauthorized charges on your account without your knowledge and then bill you for them. I was billed 24.95. I have a confirmation number from the person at SBO. This scam must be stopped. They told me I had accessed their web site. I had never heard of them until their charges appeared on my phone bill.

  21. Ken says:

Today I was doing on job search on expat engineer.com. When I reached the job page there was an advertisment to “seach jobs in your local area”. Clicking on that was asked to provide city/state. Clicking on that, was asked to provide phone number and email. Clicking on that just got me to furthur advertising and no job info. I cancelled out of the web page. Shortly after I received an email saying “You are getting this email because you signed up to receive the Small Business OrganizationTM Home and home office service when you registered to localjobwizard.com on 06/12/2009″. It went on to say that my phone bill there would be a recurring charge of 24.95 per month. I never agreed to this and now I can see that I must go thru the hassle of getting this mess straigtend out with my phone company. This scam is ridiculous. What a pain they have caused me.

  22. Lori says:

I received a charge of $24.95 on my Frontier bill WITHOUT my consent.I called them and they told me that they had our email address so we must of signed up which we did not. They said they would remove the charge from the bill but would take 2 billing cycles for it to be removed. They better remove these charges.I can’t beleive that they can get away with this. Imagine how many people pay for this and don’t even know it.

  23. melissa says:

i also got charged for this service, which i did not approve!

  24. Margie says:

I signed up for facebook, which is fine, but I wanted to look at photos of my cousin’s kids on a site called tagged.com. I had to sign up to view the pix. Once I signed up, within an hour, I got a call from sbo online thanking me for my order. I called the phone company to make sure nothing was charged to my phone or internet accounts, but they couldn’t block it until it was actually charged. Got my bill today, and sure enough, there was a charge of $24.95 plus tax for this sbo online survival kit that I never ordered. AT&T is sending me out a block request, but I still had to call the Enhanced Billing Services, which bills for SBO ONLINE, and have it all removed, too. It makes me really mad because I never signed up for anthing, and NEVER authorized anything to be billed to my account. This is a total SCAM– beware of tagged.com and SBO-online!!

  25. Michelle says:

I received a phone call at work this morning thanking me for signing up. I called the number to tell them to cancel because I did not sign up for anything. He said I signed up today at 2am, and listed my email address at home, along with the password which is something I’d never use. I was in bed at 2am! Now I have to contact our IT department to tell them to watch for this company on our phone bills. I’m not sure how they got my home email and work phone because I don’t give out my work phone. I called home to have my daughter check my email, and sure enough, I had an email that came in at 2am thanking me for signing up. I’ll be running a virus check on my computer tonight. I do use face book but have not gone to anything out of the ordinary, and also have not linked my work phone.

  26. Rusty says:

Appeared on my phone bill $24.95 what a scam, called them cancell never did figure out what they do. MUST BE WITH ACORN. I too signed up on facebook. I have filed with the Department AG. Trade and Comsumer protection.
It is a nice gig to get $25.00 on time. What a racket.

  27. Debra says:

I am sending this message out because I am very disturbed about what I experienced from this company. I was looking at my phone bill and notice a charge for $24.95 plus tax $1.75 was added to that a grand total of $26.70. The line item reads other companies billing, right there I was like what could this be, I saw a number listed on the bill so I contacted them, and spoke with a Natarshia and explained that I received charges on my bill and I didnt recognize who they were and nothing was authorized by me, and she asked me to verify my name, address, and phone number, after giving her this information, she proceeds to say that charges were authorized by someone else in my household and they accepted terms and stating they had authorization for charges that come to the phone line. I explained to her that I was the head of household and my name is on the phone bill and no one makes changes to my phone line. Natarshia then says a email was sent if you didnt want services to cancel. I explained to her I didnt receive a email because I never accessed their site, so this information couldnt be true. She stated she would cancel as of today, but charges will stand.I immediately asked for a supervisor and she places me on hold and come back and say my supervisor stated that it is ok to refund the charges and it will take two billing cycles. I asked for a confirmation #. I DONT TRUST WHOMEVER THIS COMPANY IS” A SCAM”, i will be contacting AT&T and placing a block on my account for no 3rd party billing. I think it is terrible that companies can do stuff like this, and you phone carriers allow this. For the people that dont look at your bills, please do so, I would hate for you to be the victim and have to clear this mess up.

  28. TODD says:

Same thing as all above. Spoke to a supervisor named Lori A. @ 1-877-726-4222 and she supposedly refunded my money to the phone bill and said future bills are canceled as well. Will see. There was no authorization to start this. Crazy that ATT would allow this.

  29. TODD says:

Found it’s better to call Att and have them reverse the charge.

  30. Robert says:

I was billed by SBO for who knows what but when I called I got an operator right away and she was able to credit my account while I spoke to her and she added me to their ‘do not bill’ list. I was please with the ease I was able to get a credit issued but I am still at a loss how it is these companies get away with billing you for something you did not order. This is the second time this has happened to me, two separate companies, but it always puts a mark against my phone bill since I refuse to pay the amount of the fraudulent charges instead waiting for their credits to go through to balance my account. Isn’t there something that can be done? Don’t I remember this practice being made illegal? When was a loop hole created to let these parasites in? I feel bad for people on automatic pay. I wonder how often they are billed for these charges and don’t even realize it?

  31. Amy says:

My mom broke out the landline phonebill from AT&T today–and asked me if i had ever seen or heard of 2 charges that she was stuck with. I told her, i had never EVER heard of SBO-Online.org. Well, she called AT&T and they explained what the company was, and then proceded to tell her it was ME and my email address that signed up for this?!? I WAS PISSED!!! I did no such thing. I immediately called their little 877# and told them exactly what i thought about them scamming us, and phishing my personal information in order to conduct their scam. Typically you will see 2 unauthorized charges—one for a voicemail service, and one for a home survival kit. DO NOT let them lie to you. Those 2 scams (charges) go hand in hand. The lady i spoke with assured me, that SBO is a different company, i assured her, that if i saw one more unauthorized charge on my phone bill, they can be assured that i will be contacting a class A lawyer to fix the issue. Beware of what you click on. Beware of the surverys you take–even on a trusted site like Facebook. NONE of those ads can be trusted.

  32. Troy says:

I recently recieved a bill in the mail on my phone bill AT&T for $15.25 plus tax for a total of $16.55. I did not sign up for any online service of this nature, nor do I need this service. I was Slammed with a bogus charge from this company. The company name is SBO-Online.org Survival Kit Monthly fee. This will be reported to the BBB. Companies like these are predators in every sence of the word.

  33. Bean says:

I used to be a employee at a call center that supplied customer service for SBO Online… And I agree with all of you. This service is a scam, and I used to try to give back all the money I could without getting fired. But what I want to tell all of you is that in the US there is something called third party information sharing and third party billing… And what that is, is when you give some petty information like your name, address, and phone number for something like a job search website and that website shares the information with other companies… and that also lets combanies and businesses charge you in the way they do… and because people don’t read the terms and agreements they don’t realize whats going to happen to there information. And 99% of the time thats why your getting signed up for all these scam companies… This third party information sharing and third party billing has been illegal here in Canada for years and years..and obviously you can see why… And is slowly becoming illegal in the US..but so far its only illegal in 3 or 4 states. I would say to every american out there… protest this to your state government and make this illegal in the entire country.

  34. Randy says:

I absolute never signed up for this SBO online survival kit. This type of fraud needs to be stopped. This bill for 15.25 appeared on my AT&t phone bill and I hope thar AT&T will go after them !!!

  35. Janis says:

Charges appeared on my 88-year-old mother’s phone bill. They had even created an email account in her name and gave her birthdate that made her 36 years old. I called their number and immediately was credited and the “service” canceled. AT&T was able to give me the IP address from which the charge was “requested” and the birhdate given. The IP address is 64.34.115.106.

  36. Gayle says:

How does Qwest get away with their business??? In the summer 2008, I wanted to change my landline from business to residential. The rep said I’d have to wait until the beginning of the upcoming year. I began phoned Qwest in January-August (have dates, times & confirmation numbers), with all reps throughout that timeframe promising to make the switch. The monthly cost savings was approximately $50per/mo. Every month, the bill continued to reflect business services. After several months they said the reason they couldn’t make the change was due to the listing in the phone books. Not one phone call to advise me of this – they just continued to bill. Each month I phoned it took nearly an hour to run a new rep through the situation. There wasn’t any listing for my company, although they did list me personally. They couldn’t get that correct. All they are willing to credit me is $60 spread over 12 months. A far cry from $50 x 8 months. The company is so big that no one knows from one minute to the next what their packages or procedures are – terrible company.

  37. Susanne Tobin says:

I received a voice message from SBO indicating they would be activating my account. Never heard of this business.

I called the Company and obtained a cancellation for the service, which I never ordered. They indicated the charges would have been applied to my telephone bill. They also said I had ordered their service from a web site http://www.ihire.com), which again I have never heard of. In addition, this URL does not connect to a web page.

  38. Jean says:

This just showed up on my recent att bill. the company states my daughter signed me up for this, mind you they knew her fist and last name. I told them I have not heard of such a thing and didnt know what their company was about. They told me not to call at&t they would remove it. AT&T will be getting a phone call in the am. WHAT A SCAM and scary that AT&T would allow these charges unauthorized and from the looks of it its been going on a long time

  39. lisa says:

I have never been to this web site but they charged me 15.95 on my a&tt phone bill so i called att who took the charge off my bill and asked me call 1-877-726-4222.So i called and was told that i signed up for there program through craziestoffers.com (who ever they are). I never signed up for anything of the sort. what a scam !!!!

  40. Drew says:

Unfortunately we get these a lot on our business phone bills – there is nothing AT&T or the other phone companies can do about it, it is government mandated that they allow 3rd party billing (theoretically for other phone companies to use). I know AT&T is (and has been) fighting this, as it causes them a lot of unnecessary phone calls from disgruntled customers. It’s all very annoying and a huge waste of time and resources!

  41. Carol Wolff says:

I’ve been zapped again. This time they are trying to collect for two months of fees. I have called and of course, they’ll issue a credit, but it will take a couple billing cycles. They ask all kinds of personal questions when you try to cancel, of course. This happened to my account over a year ago as well and it took four months to get the charges removed. It’s very annoying – how can we stop this from happening.

  42. sally says:

I just found out that I too was brought into this mess. Supposedly they sent email and left message to get approval. Bull no phone call was ever left and no email was ever sent. Now its going to take 1 – 2 billing cycles to get off my bill and get credited. How can companies do this?

  43. Cindy says:

Tried talking with the rumdums at SBO several times, finally called AT&T and they took care of the charges and placed a third party block on our line.

  44. Aimee says:

I also found the SBO-online charge $15.25 on my AT&T phone bill. Spent practically the entire day dealing with this. I initially called the 1-877-726-4222 number. I spoke with a female representative who asked for the 10 digit phone number associated with the account. I provided my phone number to her. She then stated my correct name and address and asked me to verify that they were correct. I said yes. I told her I’ve never heard of SBO and wanted an explanation of who SBO was, told her I was falsely signed up for it, and wanted my money back. She smarted off by saying I wasn’t falsely signed up because they had my correct information. She was willing to cancel the service and tried to verify my email so she could send a cancellation email. Problem: the email address she stated was bogus! She lied and said the service was only charged to my bill twice and gave me a confirmation number for that refund. I ended the call and went back and found all my past AT&T statements, turns out it was actually 3 months worth of “service”. Next, my husband calls AT&T, they confirm they will have the two months charges removed but that we have to deal with SBO to get the other one removed. During this time I am worried that I have been a victim of ID theft, which is probably what SBO wants you to believe. So, we call SBO back and ask for some more details. We find out the date that I supposedly registered, and that there was an advertisement on http://www.ihirenow.com for SBO that was clicked on. They also said that the only information that was needed to register was a name, phone number, and address. My husband then asked if anyone can just type in anyone’s public information to open an account. That alone is absurd and began heavily turning our suspicion away from ID theft and onto SBO. My husband asked to speak with the supervisor, still attempting to get our additional $15.25 refunded, and was put on hold. The same girl came back on and gave him the confirmation number for the other refund. Just out of curiosity, I decided to visit SBO-online.org myself and discovered that in order to register on their website you must answer the security question “last four digits of your SSN” and provide your date of birth. I’m really starting to get tired of being lied to by these people at this point. I call back this time accusing them of lying and demanding for them to tell me what information of mine they have. The girl I was speaking with Susan told me my birth date making me 3 years younger than I actually am, bogus again! She also gave me an IP address that I traced on Google to the United Kingdom. She assured me that they did not have my SSN because back in March they did not require that information. I said, “so you’re telling me that three months ago your company did not require a SSN, but now they do?” She said “yes”. I asked “why” and she said “for security purposes”. I’m pretty sure that a website asking for your SSN should send up major red flags. Anyway, I wasn’t satisfied at all because now I’m really beginning to question the legitimacy of SBO. I demand to speak to her supervisor, or someone in management. I am put on hold. Then I get to talk to Gordon. He contradicts the previous girl’s story about the SSN issue. He said he didn’t know how someone was able to register for an account with them without providing the SSN. “I don’t know how that happened.” He went on and on about how it isn’t their policy to give credits or refunds but “as a courtesy” he had refunded all of the charges. When I spoke with AT&T again I was told that they are required by the FCC to allow third party billing. I have been in contact with my state’s attorney general and am filing a consumer complaint. I have also been in contact with my local authorities. After all of this, my husband gets on the internet and searches SBO-online fraud and boom we find this website and realize we are just one little fish in their sea of scam!

  45. Carol says:

I’ll echo what everyone else wrote here. Absolute scam. I wonder how the people in this call center can work for a company that falsely charges people and make up stories – bullsh*t. Didn’t catch this charge for 5 months. I almost jumped through the phone at a) the ATT rep who knew nothing and told me to take it up with SBO and b) the SBO rep who assured me we signed up for this. Same story, bogus email address and other crap. They SAID they are refunding everything, we’ll see about that. The woman’s name was Rosalind but I doubt that was true since nothing else was. Cramming is what this is. Absolutely fraudulent.

  46. Jessica says:

This happened to me also. However, easist thing in the world CenturyLink took care of all the charges, for 3 months, and put a third party block on my line to prevent scam scum from doing this again. I would advise everyone to put on a third party block.

It is strange how it happened to me/my inlaws…The charge landed on their phone bill, and I have not used their phone number for contact in over two years. They told me about it this past weekend. I also rarely check email in my yahoo account. I looked at it for the first time since July and found the email telling me about ‘my new account’. Stupid phone bill cramming!

Charges began appearing on my AT&T bill without authorization. Called SBO-Online and they said my wife signed up. Not true. They said a confirmation email was sent, also not true. I cancelled was given a confirmation number and told to call AT&T for a refund on my bill. AT&T said they do not apply these refunds they must come from SBO. Still waiting to see what happens.

  49. Kat Parker says:

I can not believe that AT&T would allow fradulent companies to have access to their billing. Where is their watchdog to prevent this from happening? The AT&T rep said for $8.00/monthly I could have third party billing blocked. WHAT?? I have to pay for this service? I can fix it…I’ll cancel my landline before I am scammed by both the SBO online AND the phone company.

We were signed up for it somehow. My husband has no recollection of signing up, but we were billed $15.25/mo for 2 months until I caught it. They said my husband signed up. nope. and they said he got a confirmation email. nope. Very frustrating. Complete scam. Shame on the phone company for working with them.

On Oct.1,2010 I received a phone call from Lynn at ISI asking me if I would like to save money on my AT&T bill. I said yes, and was then informed that they had a billing agreement with AT&T. They went on about how they could reduce my Long Distance to $.05 a minute, which was wholesale cost. I told them I was not interested, they continued to try to sell me with more info and I repeatedly told them “no”, I didn’t want their service. After I hung up I started thinking that I was probably being recorded and I had said the word “yes.” I figured they could edit the tape to show I said yes to their service. Within 5 minutes, I called AT&T and spoke to Roy and explained to him I had just refused ISI’s service and wanted to inform AT&T of what I felt was a scam. Roy said he would put “an alert” on my account so they could deny any charges from that company. Life happened, we got busy with Holidays & 2 Grandchildren born, I just now checked my Jan. bill and saw the charge for “Enhanced Services” at $15.25. I called AT&T who told me it was SBO who had placed that charge on my bill. I had never heard of SBO before now. I was given a phone number and when I called I talked with a lady named Traci. I was told, like everyone else, that my wife had enrolled in their program. I knew my wife had not enrolled but I wasn’t going to argue and waste good air. I told Traci I wanted it cancelled now. She said it had already been cancelled because my wife had given an incorrect address. Traci told me they had the house number but not our street name. When they called, pretending to be ISI, they had my phone number and my complete address and had billed me for 3 months. I guess they don’t need my address since they had my AT&T account info. Traci said it would be cancelled and gave me a conformation number. I then called AT&T and spoke with Carla. After allowing me to vent, she said she would block my account from any third party charges. She didn’t mentioned any additional charges for blocking my account. We shall see. I did tell her I was very upset that AT&T didn’t call me, a customer for 25yrs., to confirm that the additional charges were OK. Carla told me they did not have someone in place to do that. If that is the case, why did Roy, an AT&T Rep.,tell me he would place “an alert” on my account. I think if AT&T really cared about customer service, they would get someone in place to confirm new charges suddenly showing up on a bill. Or with all the computer technology wouldn’t it be easy to generate a confirmation email if any new charges showed up? AT&T, I believe, is getting a cut from SBO; therefore, it is to their financial advantage to remain silent. I feel sad, because I feel betrayed. Don’t you get tired of companies, which are comprised of “people”, lying and misleading? Behavior should be based on principles, you do it or not, because it’s just the right thing to do. End of discussion.

These ppl showed up on my phone bill charging me 15.25 a month for a service I have never heard of nor would I have signed up for. But somehow they had all my information. When asked what Services my account says i have used they tell me they dont have axcess and cant tell me this. Brenda the supervisor I spoke to said I signed up for their services off a link from another page. This is BULLS%&T. I do not ever sign up for things on the internet.

OMG! I should look at my phone bill more diligently. for 5 months now Enhanced Billing Services, Inc. has been debiting my AT&T account to the tune of $15.25 for SBO for some service I never knowingly ordered, much less used. After 5 phone calls to this enhanced billing services, inc., I was able to get all my 5 payments totally refunded. Be persistent. These are scammers. Shame on AT& T for being party to this. I am phoning the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Louisiana.
