The Voicemailtoday.com charges my grandparents for the voice mail service since Nov, 2008. They only speak less than 10 English words and are completely inept in modern technology (no cellphone, computer, or other digital devices). This company took advantage of them because they did not understand the bill. I called them, but they said I don’t have the authority to cancel, but they don’t have anyone who speaks Mandarin to speak with my grandfather. Beware of these people!

My phone bill had a charge of 12.95 from a company called VoicemailToday.com which I did not sign up for. I have contacted them twice to cancel this service & credit my account. I am still being billed for this service that I did not authorize.

I just want to give a bit of advice…I was a banker until Aug 2008 so 2 things: 1) Give your phone company that posted the charge a call and they will credit it to your account 2) If the phone company gives you grief then not only change service (you will probably get a better deal ANYWAY) but also get your bank involved…If checkcard or credit card was used it is as simple as let them know within 60 days…YOU HAVE THAT GIVEN TO YOU BY VISA/MASTERCARD AS YOUR PROTECTION SO IF THE BANK DOESNT WANT TO DO THEIR JOB (switch banks too…you will probably get a better deal anyway!) … I really hope I helped because my grandmother just got this charge on her phone bill and I was blown away when she said it was my name as the individual that authorized the charge??? I have my own home and phone so why would I do that… I just have to laugh because this day in time it is all about how to steal and cheat individuals for some reason. WHAT IN THE WORLD EVER HAPPENED TO PEOPLE WORKING HARD TO ENJOY THEIR MONEY? WHY DOES EVERYONE ON EARTH WANT TO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT? 12.5 Million + Unemployed and America THINKS that our Government is going to FIX IT? THEY ARE THE ONES THAT CAUSED THE COLLAPSE and I hope everyone is ready for a dose of reality when horse & buggy becomes our transportation and farming is the only anyone will be able to eat. I am not even 30 years old and since when did people forget that HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF? WAKE UP AMERICA THEY MADE US LAZY SO THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO RELY ON THEM COMPLETELY!

When I was going through all my records for the last year for taxes, I noticed a charge on my phone bill for “Enhanced Billing Services” in the amount of $12.95 since Jan 2008. I called the phone company (AT&T) and asked what it was which turned out to be some sort of voice mail thing which I never signed up for. I made them credit me for the entire year, which they eventually did.
Now today, my wife got an email confirming our order of VoiceMail Today (voicemailtoday.com) in the amount of $12.95 which will, of course, be nicely included on my phone bill. She called and bitched at them and they said “well, that why we send out the confirmations”. To which my wife replied, “there was nothing to confirm, I never talked to you or ordered anything from your company”.
Their reply was: “Well, that’s why we send out the emails first”.
They’ve supposedly canceled the “order” but I’ll have to keep watch over the phone company.
I did read somewhere that all phone lines are setup such that any 3rd party can add their service to the line unless you specifically call the phone company and tell them not to allow it.

Received an unauthorized phone charge from VoiceMailToday via AT&T on my monthly bill. I have never even heard of them until today, but my State Attorney General’s Office is about to. Funny thing is the service is supposed to be for my secondary AT&T phone number which I have NEVER given to anyone. The only calls I have ever even received on the secondary phone number have either been wrong numbers or bill collectors for folks who apparently had the number before I did.

I just noticed that my AT&T phone bill includes a charge from voicemailtoday.com. I never authorized or requested their service. I also had a $14.95 charge from a separate voice mail service company for which I did not request/authorize service. Both of these companies WILL be getting an earful from me tonight!! I’m glad I don’t have auto-pay set up for my phone bill!! Grrrrrrr

Found this charge on my Verizon bill. Called the Enhanced Service phone # and they say that someone signed me up over the internet and gave me the e-mail address used which was not mine or any member of my household’s. I am going to file a complaint with the MD Atty General’s office.

voice mail solutions placed a bill for $12.95/month for voice mail service never ordered or approved! It is a scam- verizon is blocking it now- voice mail solutions said the order came from an internet gift card- and was approved but they have nothing to back this up- and of course it’s NOT TRUE. Shouldn’t the phone bill be protected? Do we have any consumer rights?
