If you received a robocall to your phone that used a prerecorded message or artificial voice, you may be entitled to recover compensation from a robocall class action lawsuit or settlement.
A team of class action attorneys and TCPA lawyers is investigating the marketing practices of certain companies that make robocalls to consumers’ telephones without consent or permission using pre-recorded messages or an artificial voice, potentially in violation of federal law.
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) generally makes it unlawful for any person to make a call without prior express consent using an artificial or prerecorded voice to a telephone number. A person can recover $500 in damages for each call in violation of the TCPA (and up to $1,500 if the defendant willfully or knowingly violated the TCPA).
Robocall Class Action Lawsuit Cases
Robocall class action lawsuit and settlement cases potentially being investigated include the following, among others:
- Robocalls that use an artificial voice (i.e., computer generated voice)
- Robocalls that use a pre-recorded voice (i.e., a recorded message)
- Other robocall or TCPA class action lawsuit claims
An artificial voice is a computer generated voice (i.e., a non-human voice such as one created via artificial intelligence or AI) that communicates with call recipients. A pre-recorded voice is a prerecorded message (i.e., a recorded voice message that may or may not be human) that plays when a call from a robocaller is answered or goes to voicemail.
Robocalls using a computer generated voice or a pre-recorded message frequently consist of unsolicited, unauthorized or unwanted calls designed to advertise the robocaller’s products or services or for debt collection purposes, among others.
If you received a call that used an artificial voice or prerecorded message, you may be entitled to recover compensation from a robocall class action lawsuit case or settlement claim. Contact a TCPA class action lawyer to request a free case review.
